Saw Colin riding up the main rode from Greenock, note sure if he had sore legs or he was pulling away slowly from the traffic lights.

well what a windy day, it stayed dry. this was my first tt outwith the club. i managed 13th overall and 2nd in my section. i won money, a first! I had a good run but as usual i made it to the start just in time, was pushed of not clipped in, blasted it first few yards to make up time , untill i realised my HR was 190.slowed up and made it round, nearly threw up at the finish.Looking forward to next one.

Great to see some local names in there. A couple that I could give a hard time to back in 2011! If I had been fit, it would have been great to have raced against some of the countries best (even to be on the same start sheet would have been cool)!

Great day out in Fife. My first venture in to open water this year so thank goodness the sun was shining. Open water swimming is defo one of my favourite things.
 
The usual manic start with people swimming on top of you etc. all fighting for space. A few girls passed me on the bike, but I passed many more. Also caught quite a few on the run so finished about 8th female (still waiting for the officail results).
 
Just looked at my results from doing the same race in 2011 (missed last year to injury) and on my clock, I have taken 7 minutes off my time!!
Job done

An enjoyable run out with Boyd and Bill T along the coast to Largs via short detour to Skelmorlie; West Kilbride; Dalry; Kilbirnie; and back along the track where we met Mark O at Lochwinnoch. Lovely views over the Clyde,Ben Lomond etc. and plenty of sunshine. Thanks for the company. Anyone know the mileage?

Lovely weather this year for the Scottish Sprint Champs based in a wee country park in Fife. Last year was drizzle and 9 degrees, this year it was sunny and 17 degrees.
 
swim in loch then 20something k road bike round Cowdenbeath with a 5k run to finish.
 
Extremely busy, about 500 athletes.
 
we started in waves which makes it difficult to know exactly where you are in a race. Anyway no-one passed me on the bike or run from my wave but I only got 4th vet so I reckon I must have been well beaten in the swim.
 
Delighted to find that ERC give wine as prizes, much more fun than a pair of inner tubes.
 
Then straight back to the velodrome for the Youth Omnium and relaxed watching our younger riders make the podium. :banana

Pretty sure you would be fine with either. You can try mine on rollers if you want or if you are at track when I am there some time.

 

At last the trisuit came out in warm evening sunshine for the Pentlands Solstice Triathlon held at Threipmuir Reservoir on a Wednesday , as close to mid-summer as the organisers could arrange. I was the only Wheeler there, mid-week racing is difficult if you are working, and I only recognised a couple of other weegie types including Elizabeth Adams, a staunch WOSCA coach and racer.
 
Water was warmer this year which helped me for the 750m swim, then15k MTB round beautiful singletrack (trisuit plus clunky MTB = eeeugh) then 5k off road run in the summer evening sunshine.
 
I won the overall event by about a minute. Which was nice.

I have a Pinnacle hybrid which is pretty close to a road bike with flat bars. Geared more like a mtb and when weighted with 2 full panniers i can still get up hills. Its my preferred bike to commute on as I find it easier to look over shoulder in traffic.
Have used it on an off-road path I wouldn't take road bike over.
I didn't like the gearing on the Boardman but it may have changed since I looked.

Mrs M was 4th in the Stirling tri yesterday, with a PB at sprint distance as well. Frustratingly only 6 seconds off 3rd (and the big prize money!).

Heartily enjoyed this yesterday, a decent quality field and awesome weather for my first Cross race in 10 years! Got a 7th place and managed to keep it on the same lap as the winners
