The Committee respectfully asks all members to renew their membership by end Feb 2017.
If subs are not paid then, amongst other sanctions, your posting rights on this forum will be suspended.
If you are sad enough to read this then you realy should have paid your subs by now.

Alan, is there somewhere on my profile that tells me when my membership expires?
I seem to renew at different times each year so was planning to renew when I can't access the members section.
Don't want to renew if I only did 9 months ago etc
Cheers

Alan
I renewed within the last couple of weeks, but not 100% sure that the money has been taken from my account. Can you confirm either way

Yeah, I had November in my head but I've gone well off.
Can anyone tell me when I renewed?
Maybe I'm tight but I'm not renewing now and then in Nov.

Hi Richie, no worries. Alan will be able to confirm if you renewed in November. That being the case, no action required until Nov 17.
Cheers,

By way of context, only 40 or so members have renewed since the AGM in November. That's less than half the club!

Agreed that current system of renewing membership is a bit weird and done for historical reasons. Apologies for the inconvenience folks.
Richie, I will check and get back to you.

This would be an awesome event to hold in the West of Scotland. What's involved in setting it up?
Not sure on the protocol but would imagine we would have support in any submission through the District.
Other than that it's a Westferry 10 on a large scale.
Course, RA, Race HQ, Publicity, Field Selection, Marshalls, Results, Prizes
I would think that we would have marshalling support, etc from neighbouring clubs. Likewise I would think any other club in the area looking to run it would have our support
Billy Mac is our rep with CTT. Any info Billy?

Submissions of Interest are being invited to host the CTT 2018 10mile Time Trial Championship.
Do we have anyone in the club who is interested in organising this event? Obviously not a one-person job but we would require a name to put against the submission.
Having one of the fastest 10 courses on our doorstep would make it interesting
Deadline to CTT is end of month so if interested please post below and we can see how the feeling is through the club before deciding whether or not to submit
JWCC decision deadline 28th January 2017

The club currently runs a number of confined event time trials across the spring and summer months. Some of these are handicapped events, meaning that it's not always the fastest rider that wins the award at the end of the season. Discussion after the Georgetown Cup open event indicated that there was some demand for a structured TT competition within the club. This proposal therefore outlines a Confined TT league that will reward the consistently fastest riders, and, hopefully, increase rider participation in the confined events. It should be noted that the existing awards will be completely unchanged. This will be an addition to what is already there, and in my view, will be experimental to gauge participation levels. There will be no actual physical prize at the end of the season, only the kudos of knowing that you are the most consistently fast male/female rider in Johnstone Wheelers.
The proposal is this:
The TT league shall consist of
1 restricted gear TT over 10 miles.
3 hilly TT each over 10 miles.
10 Chocolate series, each over 7.2 miles
8 league of 10 (including the Frank Lauder 10) each over 10 miles.
2 25 miles(run as part of the CTT events)
4 2up TT, each over 7.2 miles.
Points are awarded for the first 5 finishers on the basis of the distance raced, i.e. 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, for a 7.2 mile race, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5 for a 10 and 25, 23, 22, 21, 20 for a 25 mile race. 2 up points are awarded to each rider in the team on the same basis. 1 point is awarded for finishing. 2 points are awarded for timekeeping/holding/marshalling. 5 points are awarded for a PB on the course.
Crucially, points will be deducted for NOT helping, if a rider has taken part in more than 30% of races, based on the number of races undertaken, I.e. If a rider has taken part in 15 races, but has not done the helping out bit, they would lose 15 points when the points are added up at the end of the season.
The league will be open to male and female members, but not Jets(at least, not for this year). Jets will still be able to compete for the current awards.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a proposal for discussion. It is not a 'done deal'. If there is no support for it, it will go away. If there are differing opinions on any aspect of this proposal, post them up. We can have the discussion and then put a proposal forward to the committee.
Your thoughts and responses are welcome.
Alan
Alan, you sure on the 10 Chocolate events?

Unfortunately I'm inLondon this weekend and unable to assist

There has been a a bit of work carried out in the clubrooms over the last couple of weeks and we're looking to get them shipshape ahead of the roller sessions and the AGM next week
Is there anyone available for a couple of hours this Wednesday evening to assist with the clear out and clean up of the Main Hall and kitchen?
I plan to be at the clubrooms from 6:30pm until 9pm
Any assistance would be appreciated

Size - XS
Would suit rider 5'2" - 5'6" (or up to Lusia's height)
This frame has been raced and comes with the normal frame marks and scratches. It also has a slight groove in the chain stay where the bottom bracket drifted and the chain set scratched the stay. This happened a year or so back and has had no adverse effect on the frame
Length of steer is 57cm from axle to top (approx 68mm above headset)

I'll take the pedals if still available

A powerline range extender might do the trick - basically you plug it into a power socket then run a cable to your wifi router then you put a receiver into a socket near where you want a wifi signal. It uses the electrical wires to send the data (so you will need to be one same electrical circuit). I have a BT branded one which cost about £30 and i dont notice any speed difference when connected to that compared to connected to the normal wifi.

I have these around the house. Great invention
Maplin do a full range of them. Dead easy to set up as well

Is there any interest from our members to join the CTT Scotland Committee
Please drop me a PM before Wednesday this week and we will forward your nomination to Bill

Hi All
Ctt Scotland District are required to elect a committee each year at the AGM as per the Articles of Association 27.4 item c. The current Committee is comprised of Willie Cosh (Chairman) myself Bill McMillan (Secretary), Ian Manson (Treasurer) and Geoff and Linda Smith, Stephen Blom, Sean Webster and Graham Cockburn. The club representatives are entitled to vote for a new committee for 2017 and I am writing to you to start the process. Clubs can nominate anyone from their club to stand for these positions with up to another 5 committee members.
Willie Cosh, Ian Manson, Linda and Geoff Smith, Stephen Blom and myself are all willing to continue in post for 2017 but we need the support of the clubs to do so.
Therefore can you please either nominate a new candidate for these posts or confirm if you are willing to re elect the committee for the year 2017. Re election of the existing committee does not exclude the election of at least 5 new committee members and we would be delighted to have nominations for at least 5 new committee members.
Can you please reply and confirm your club position within the next 7 days.
Thanks and regards Bill McMillan Secretary CTT Scotland.

Are there any other offers of assistance?
We have a number of JWCC members competing in this event as it's also the club 25 championship so ideally we would have assistance from those who are not competing.
