Elaine got in, so we have just booked on the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry on the Thursday (18th), returning on the Monday (22nd). Currently have 3 nights booked in Valkenburg, but may spend the Friday night somewhere else on route. Happy days! R

  2. cold and wet, not the best day to be out with only a gabba short sleeve top but to be fair it did the trick until the coastal run to Largs and was only cold for a short time. Was perished in the B basket so getting back on the bike was a bit of a relief. Worse than the weather were the drivers along the coast road..beyond bonkers and a reminder of why I generally stick to back roads. Chung hope you did not suffer too much with the extra miles involved in getting back home and felt a wee bit guilty dragging you so far out. Another reminder to ignore BBC weather.

  3. Dear All AGM will be held at clubrooms starting 1900 on 16th November 2018. You may want to arrive a few minutes early to sort out a big curry order. Apologies for late publicity. We technically gave notice in the last committee minutes but it was rather buried and some of you may have missed it. Hope you can make it, subs for 18/19 will be due from the AGM. Agenda etc to follow. Regards Alan McLean Acting Secretary

  4. Despite the rain, which I absolutely hate, today was decent. I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to stop at BB as was wary my fingers and feet were going numb so figured it'd be best to head straight up the road before it got any worse. Sure enough my face started numbing up on the way back passed Kilbirnie as it seems the temperature got a degree or two colder at that point (I have a wee bit of nerve damage so this tends to happen when its cold and wet) so I could barely speak clearly . Was nice and dry after that though, but still bloody freezing! My feet were still numb in the bath Roll on the drum up! Long range forecast looks OK, lets hope it stays like that

Thanks for the company, Dave. I guess there will be a few more runs like this over the winter - but that's probably better than starting from virtual scratch again in the spring.

  6. Don’t be silly Davie! I somehow enjoyed it ...... :-) like I said to you earlier, sometimes it’s refreshing to pedal in complete wetness :-) If you want to feel less guilty, then come with us to the Drum-up next Sunday, I’ll promise you sunshine! Thanks for the run & company today gents ......... and Andy’s large banana :-) Cheers

    Sunday 11th November

Change of route today for me and Boyd. More of an urban route to start , along Paisley Road West, then Pollockshaws, MearnsCentre, then rural roads to Neilston, Dalek hill and back to Johnstone. soaked for last half hour, but thanks to Boyd for the route, and glad we went out. David

  8. Had to mix it up a bit thought broke away on my own until Michael flew past got his wheel and hung on to it until he started flicking his elbow...okay...so we took turns until Largs where my legs were screaming at that point. It was good fun think I gave him a good kicking
