2023 Subscriptions iain couttie Posted November 28, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 28, 2011 i am intending to head over the brige ,into drymen and up the loch side to Balmaha, there is a good bar/caffe there or 4 or 5 in drymen. the run should be around 60 miles and fairly flat.We can detour on the way back and do some hills if required. iain
Committee Alan McLean Posted November 28, 2011 Committee Report Share Posted November 28, 2011 Guys, you may wish to come to auchentoshan on the way home and watch the cross racing. Two minutes from the north side of the bridge. Alan
Guest
I'm happy to go wherever, 3 lochs, drymen or bagel basket. If weather like last week then Le Bagel gets my vote.

Guest
I could be wrong but is the 3 lochs not loch lomond, loch fyne and loch eck? if so, nowhere near balfron, strathblane etc.
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted November 29, 2011 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 29, 2011 The three Lochs is straight up to Helensburgh, up the Whistlefield to Arrochar, turn at Tarbert and down by Loch Lomond. I'm not sure I'm up for this at this time of year. Will probably do something based on the coast run. But that is just me! D

Mark O
I'm afraid to even post such is my dilemma, what with my resplendant pink duvet and matching fluffy pillows offering the enticement of a luxurious long lie in, and that cheeky ol' devil Gorgeous George having hopefully returned my similarly coloured favourite boudior attire by the weekend, the temptation is almost more than a Garnocksider can countenance. Oh, I suppose I'll be out and about around Miller Street at 9 bells come Sunday morning. See y'all then
Members Richard
Discussions about the route may prove academic: as I type, the forecast for Sunday is for heavy rain and 30mph winds. Fingers crossed that those Met Office chaps and chapesses revise it when they finish striking.
DavieB
In case it wasn't appetising enough there's now a predicted afternoon lightning storm chucked in for good measure........ Guest
Tweed 3/4 pantaloons, long mohair socks, a warm pair of mittens & a tweed bunnet & you are good to go. Altho Mark will be tucked up watching the hollyoaks omnibus in his barbie goony.
2023 Subscriptions iain couttie Posted November 30, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 30, 2011 I had only tried to come up with a flatish run of 60 mls, i dont mind where we go, i will go with the flow as they say.I did however check the weather for Balmaha on sunday and they are saying 80 degrees and a tail wind of 20mph there and it seems to change at 12.30 to 20mph on the way back.BUT if it has to be largs in the rain then so be it.
