Richie Cross
Well...my chaingang debut didn't go as I'd hoped! My excuses are as follows: 1) Up at 4am with wee one this morning 2) Was busting a gut on a lunchtime fitness test at work 3) Haven't been on the bike for 2 weeks The writing was on the wall when my legs were burning with lactic on some uphill bits even before we hit the Westferry!! Found it increasingly hard, sloped off to the back and was then dangling on the end of the invisible elastic for a wee while but when that snapped, I was mentally finished. Didn't even have the energy to shout anything..sorry. Crawled along back to the car....and got lost. Might be my first and last time for a Thurs night!! There were some enjoyable bits though
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted June 23, 2011 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 23, 2011 Don't worry Ritchie. We've all got that T shirt. Keep coming back and you'll get there eventually.
Richie Cross
I think it also didn't help not knowing how far along we were going....or maybe that's a good thing! Is there such a thing as being able to recover on Clune Hill before regrouping!
2023 Subscriptions charlie p Posted June 23, 2011 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 23, 2011 Ritchie There is an option to take a left at second o and turn up past cemetary to top of clune. This gives you a chance to recover before main bunch catches you. means you can dig in along westferry knowing you will get recovery time but as they say the more you do it the easier it gets. More like a summer night tonight. fantastic turn out.Tough dig along the georgetown. Did billy get shelled out again. may be he should change to Shimano. More of the same next week

Guest EPCC
To reply to MrC no technical malfunctions were the order of the day at the left turn atBow chain got stuck on my chain fang. Got back going but gap was a bit too big for me to close did try though to be fair was not overly tierd on the way back into johnstone broke a spoke in the rear wheel . On another note are you up for the track day in July
Mark O
Cracking evening for it, even though my only good lung gave out for a bit between Kilmacolm and BofW. "Chain came off" Billy Mac. Time to change from the unreliable italian stuff to quality Jap workmanship More of the same next week M
DavieB
Quality Jap workmanship indeed I believe they make cracking fishing rods. D
Guest
Billy, you need to stop using that Italian niche market stuff. ok for poseurs but sram and shimano are where it's at-like campag for the 21st century.
