Colin H
Tom, OHHHHHHHH SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close........off each post and the bar Unfortunately the rules apply as they did with Davie meaning only 6 points Big scorers of the day were Richard and Richie both with Gilbert 1st and Schleck the younger in 3rd scoring 18 points Alan M, Davie B and Greig all get 14 points Myself, Paul and Jann get 12 (thank god for Gilbert ) Standings following LBL: 1st Richie C 48 points 2nd Me 46 points 3rd Davie B 34 points Joint 4th Paul M and Alan M 29 points Joint 5th Richard M and Duncan T 28 points Joint 6th Kenny C, Tom H and Jann 18 points Joint 7th Billy M and Ramsay 16 points Lots of points generally picked up by everybody but it would appear Alans comment re mentalists was about right Anyway, we have a wee break until the Giro starts on 7th May so some time to scour the mags and make your selections. There are 3 TT's this year so we will include predictions for the outcome of those. Should be good as there is a TTT, a MTT and an ITT. So for the Giro we will be looking for: Top 3 overall; Top 3 Mountain goats; Top 3 Speed demons; Top team overall; Top 3 Teams for TTT on 1st day. All to be submitted by 23.59 on 6th May. Good luck all. Colin

Richie Cross
Colin, Just a query about the sprinters/points if I may Is this the points category as we know it? Similar to the Tour green jersey etc? It's not a 'see what sprinter wins the most stages' kind of thing? Thanks, Richie
Colin H
Richie/everybody, The points/sprints predictions are based on who will be the overall winner of the category and the second and third places come Milan, NOT who wins the most stages. Hence you will have to decide which sprinters will not want to suffer the torturous mountains that are part of the overall route and will drop out to save themselves for the tour (Cavendish perhaps???????). I thought this had caused some confusion following Alans post. I would also advise that the only positions to be predicted for the first day TTT is the top 3 teams. NO points will be awarded other than for those. Hope this helps. Colin
Colin H
Just to help clarify the points classification for the Giro the winners jersey is red and was won by Cadel Evans last year. The points scoring system is the same as for the tour. Colin

DavieB
Here goes nothing with some notable mentions from a real rogues gallery. I am assuming the points are for the "declared" winner at the end of the tour as I am sure other external parties will soon be having their say.............. TTT: HTC, Garmin-Cervelo, Sky GC: Contador (see above), Nibali, Scarponi; Team: Lampre Mountains: Sella (if it's too good to be true it generally is), Garzelli, Scarponi Points: Pettachi (nuff said), Farrar, Hunter
