With the cooperation of Renfrewshire Council we have again secured a road closure over at Howwood for the Club Hill Climb Championship on Saturday 2nd October 2010

The road will be closed from 9:30am. First rider off at 10:00 starting with the Jets on the short course and then the senior event straight afterwards

Category prizes as always. Last year we had almost 40 riders over the two events. Lets make it bigger this year

The course is on the following link http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-ki ... /166751303

The club record of 1min 22secs was set in 1988 and is still held by Graeme Herd. Twenty Two Years of Glory !!!!!! (and where will he be? Delhi. looking after our stars on bikes)

Categories, as always, will include :- age related , weight categories and special novice award for our new members and much more.

Again, for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning the hill will we be ours. Bring along the family. Get on your bike. Get on the roadside. Make some noise

We're also looking for volunteers as we need to marshall the roadblock top and bottom. These will will be rotated on the day.

Sadly, I won't be there this year as I'll be with Mr Christie and Mr McGinty on the last leg of our Hebridean tour freewheeling down to Inverness from Ullapool as you guys are climbing

I'm sure you could be given an early start if you speak nicely to the timekeeper.

Ah. The timekeeper!!!! Any volunteers. Need two. One top and one bottom along with a couple of marshalls. One top and one bottom

Call for timekeepers and marshalls, please?

Anyone not wishing to enjoy the good weather and gradient tomorrow, but still keen to be part of this event will be very welcome to come and assist as above. Volunteers, please?

My wife will be coming along to watch, so could help out in some way. Although, she has helped out twice already this year and isn't even a member..... She's also on a hen night tonight, so may be bleary eyed!

See you tomorrow.

Have a great event everyone - especially the youngsters,

Unfortunately won't be there due to hire car return and house viewing etc etc. Hopefully be in temporary house next week and able to get back out on bike for some stress relief !

Thanks to all riders, timekeepers, recorders, pusher-offer, helpers and parents for making today's event a success. Thanks also to Renfrewshire Council for arranging the road closure.

The rain held off, which meant a dry road and some fast times. 18 Jets contested the Elliston Shield, and 15 riders took part in the senior event. Well done all.

Times and placings below, I'll leave it to the race secretary Mr Steele to work out all the records and the winners in the age and weight classifications.

Yep, well done Claire on a ladies course record!

Thanks to Martin for being in charge today and to all marshalls, timekeepers and pushers off.

Always great to see so many club members (including Jets) at an event.

Cheers,

Ramsay

Congratulations to all the riders and especially the winners, well done, it sounds like a great day all round... Really sorry to have missed it, although myself and the 2 Kennys, S & C, had a great couple of days riding through the Western Isles
