We should have taken some pics. A great night. The Clyde was looking epic and so was I! Got home, PB recorded, thinking this is the fittest I've ever been. Best open a bottle to celebrate.
Meantime Stuart with a 23 02, getting dropped on a Thursday chain gang is embarrassing. Us TT'ers have a reputation to keep. I do think he might be roasting us all very soon.

I happened to be looking at the Hall of Fame, as you do, and noticed that 2015 was a truly vintage year with 7 new entrants to the SA Club. One never to be beaten you might think. I think otherwise.....
I reckon 2019 could beat that as we have 3 new entries already in April. So, to all the Officer Candidates out there, don't be shy on the training front, get a few good high tempo 60 milers under your belt and voila!  the annual inductee record to the Hall of Fame can be beaten
You know you want to. You know it will be the best thing you ever do on a bike. You know this is you purpose in life and you will forever glow in the memory. Your mission on earth will be complete. Next slot probably mid May

My Garmin registered 1c between BoW & Kilmacolm.  No wonder we couldn't feel our hands and arms
Then, it registered 29c at Gourock as we got off the ferry, though this is probably because it was sheltered on the ferry with the sun shining directly on it.  It soon changed down to 25/24c but it was pleasant enough.  Shame about the wind it was horrible on the way back.
All in all a great day out.  I couldn't muster an extra 6/7 miles to make up the century - Stuart did tho!  Kudos!

Excellent stuff, good to join you as far as Spango Valley. At one extreme we had you guys with bare arms, legs and track mitts. At the other extreme we had me in full winter gloves, tights and windproof jacket ( in my defence I took daughter to airport at 5.45 and registered 3c at Lochwinnoch roundabout ! ). It was all good for me until about Largs when I turned into a microwave boil in the bag meal !
    Great picture story Stuart

    Cracking day out.
Set off from the club house at 7, dressed for the Sahara, more like siberia.
We set off and with our arms numbed by the cold met Paul in lochwinnoch, a pleasant ride to Inverkip where paul split off and it was off to Rothesay for Colin and I.
The sun was doing its thinng by then and we had a cracking run until Colintraive where we turned into the wind. A battle to Dunoon then a roll stop in Gourock. Up the Clune and onto Amaretto where we met Alan T for a recovery pint.
Great day out, sunburnt and sore.

Lads,  are you still passing Kilmacolm at 7.25 to 7.30am, if so I will join you down to Wemmys bay. Will likely turn off at Spango up Loch Thom then Fairlie Moor if anyone else up for an early morning run. Coffee stop optional.

Was certainly an epic one, hope not to have a repeat anytime soon. Ligaments are still bad news. Hats of Colin for carrying on. If you were a horse I would probably have shot you. See you next week

Colin - one bottle for me, I carry my tubes and cylinders in my 2nd  bottle. On a warm day, and I'll probably take one tomorrow, a small 0.5l shop water bottle in pocket.
Just as a heads up lads, I will be arriving mob handed as both daughters decided they want a trip. They plan to go anti clockwise to velo café at Lagg which is about 40 miles. So we have an extra challenge on top of the SA to get to café before them which would be about 70 miles

I dropped off the bunch a couple of times last night but I was doing constant spells and not sitting in (well, that's my excuse ), so I'm going to give tomorrow a go but head home on the ferry after rather than going back to Lagg.  What's the bottle strategy for you fast boys... one bottle or two?  Was thinking two (one water & one energy)...?

Last time i rode this route it was under £10 in total for the 3 ferries as a passenger with bike. Single to rothesay was under 5, single to colintraive about 1.20 then if you go into the newsagent just before you take the left hand turn to go past the holy loch you can get a cheap western ticket there - a return there it is cheaper than a single when buying on the ferry. They will let you split the ticket too so only 1 needed.

Cool!  Depends what ferry you want to catch.  We should leave Johnstone 2hrs before. What about the 9am ferry? We'd likely be back in Johnstone 3-4pm

I'm in as long as my pace is OK on the chainy tomorrow night as its been a long time since I've done a full chainy.  If I struggle then I'll prob leave it on Saturday but will do a social run round the island instead.  Will make a decision later tomorrow night
