I friend of mine was the consultant who looked over this chap I think as he told me about it, I have mentioned to the bunch every time When crossing the bridge. The majority of these are patched up with visible small squares of tarmac however there are a few still there which may be new ones....please be aware are this look like small tarmac mushroom tops about 15cm in diameter and about 3inches high. Very dangerous!!

Sorry this is later than ideal as just noticed thread. Due to numerous factors i.e. family, health,motivation/enthusiasm (lack of) I haven't renewed yet, however situation could change & you may notice a £30 from my direction at some point during 2019.

What a weekend with the Joansin family. Could not have asked for better company, weather, digs, food or cycling. 
Looking forward to reliving it all when Chung gives us his full account of the weekend and others sharing their pics and stories.  Thanks to all for making it such a memorable event. Same time next year, I hope. 
PS yes I'm biaised, but Jets were the best drilled bunch in Flanders.

Anyway congratulations to Richard finishing on the podium in 3rd overall, behind only Douglas Watson and Alexander Macrae. Great effort!
 
 

Guys I have been using a neighbour for sports massage. Normally £40 for 60-90 Minutes. Company is Maximum Effect run by Jim Molloy who also teaches Pilates at the Carrick Loch Lomond, so knows his stuff. I  had a session yesterday and feeling great, especially after Marmotte!  He's based in Erskine but can also do home of club visit. Ivo completely dinghied me on Mill Street yesterday. He went straight to the top of my Wednesday black list of folk who refused to return my greeting, nod or smile: commuters, mountain bikers, joggers, walkers, children in buggies... There was a golden retriever in Bridge of Weir who didn't even look up when I said hello.  Yesterday was a bad day.

the oliveira twins (ivo won silver medal at the worlds in the spring) were out enjoying the cyclepath today unfortunately think they will be busy with pursuit qualification tomorrow to join us

Really pleased to see three Wheelers in the top ten last night. Cracking ride from Iain McT, too, and I'd be prepared to bet there's more to come on that front before the end of the summer.  

Haven't cycled Arran since 1991. Aiming to sort that out.

Made it round Darryl. Bit of a wait at Portavadie as we just missed the ferry due to riding too slowly after we met you lot! Nice 2 up along loch Fyne to Ardrishaig ( 20th overall I think ) where we turned along the Crinan canal path. Avoided most of the main Oban rd before turning off for Ford and the east side of Loch Awe. Beautiful riding through the trees with some great views of Ben  Cruachan before heading back up and over to Inveraray. As time was pushing on we decided to ride back on the main road instead of heading down by Strachur and  loch Eck  for the ferry. Unfortunately this meant back over the Rest ! Another tough 20 odd mile 2 up got us to Arrochar with Richard pulling well up the “false flat”  with great views of Ben Ime ( apparently).  As we were now pretty tired we decided to ride down Lomond side on the track/ old road which was as a relief as we had to slow down !  I needed a bit of a break at Balloch and persuaded Richard to go to MacDonalds where  I wolfed down a meal deal before polishing off most of Richards cos he is an athlete and struggled to get his down. On through Bonhill , the track and Dumbarton rd for home. I had no Garmin with me and my phone went flat somewhere outside Inveraray. Richard had 203 miles when we went our seperate ways. I would however point out that I rode over and back from Shawlands as well ( sorry Rich ). Left the house at 0530, back at 2215 - I reckon over 330km for me - new PR ( but if it’s not on Strava!)  Great day out and thanks  to Richard who rode very strongly all day ( I thought he was a trackie )
 

Thanks to Paul  for the route and the rest of the guys for the company. A variety of road surfaces and rural  and urban scenery which all contribute to a good  day out. No issues  apart from an irate woman in a posh car calling Paul a bloody  pest for having the temasity of being a cyciist on the road holding her up for 10seconds. Sometimes  i despair  of humanity.
