Looking to take part. Probably a first outing for my TT bike I got last year.

Despite sore legs from Sunday's Giro D'italia sufferfest sesh, I was dead pleased to take my first ever win in the 20 lap scratch. Managed to pick up a point in the points race too. Well done to Emma for taking part and not looking out of place after a 2 hour session, holding me off for fifth in the first race. Or was it 4th? Good night all round in the D's anyway. Some horrible crashes on the night, some wrecked looking bikes and various oozing body parts made it a gory night elsewhere.
I did see the guy who had the big crash in Ian's race up and walking about, so looks like no lasting damage, thankfully.

Only 7 in the D's, which made it all very..um......tactical, with everyone getting a shot at the front. No placings this week, but felt pleased anyway.

Tough night in the D's too, but managed to pick up my first ever podium finish - 3rd - in the last D race with an epic sprint finish taking 3rd by a tyre width. I think that the shorter race (15 laps) and a rest in the middle due to a crash helped me.

Really good do last night. The band kept everyone right with the steps, the buffet was good, and there were prizes too! What more could anyone need.
 
Thanks to Greig, Ramsay, Andy and Elaine for all their work on the night, and to the rest of the committee for giving up their own time to make the club work.

Thanks to all the guys that helped me out, towing me along and the occasional shove as I was blowing hard out both ends. Just a pity all your efforts came to naught after my double mechanical thanks to a badly filled pothole as I was chasing the pack through Moscow. I did make it to Galston, but my bike was so full of rattles I had to turn back. And I had no idea where I was supposed to be going anyway, but at least I was able to re-trace the route home.
 
Maybe next week.

For those that turned up, thanks. Thomkirk, sorry mate, either we missed you or you missed us. Both of us left the clubhouse at about 9.15 and had quite a pleasant, although moist 38 miler in a shade over 3 hours, which is pretty decent, given that the other guy has never been out with a group. (Can 2 really be called a group?) Hopefully he'll be back next week.
I however, will not be out next week as I will be working.

Greig's jersey sat there, enigmatically raising its collar.
And so it transpired that GJ went on holiday to Gran Canaria with Alan T.
