I'm going back to my Speedplays after a failed experiment with proper road shoes and pedals. These items have done a total of less than 150 miles.

Made the ferry with an hour to spare, but it was hard work. That string road is about 10 miles climbing and one mile of scarily fast descent. Max speed on that was 49.7 before I hit the brakes - could probably have hit 60 if my bottle had not gone. Mind you, there was some pretty dodgy road surface and it's hard to see when your glass are vibrating like a pneumatic drill A wee bit of help.

I'm planning on being at the clubrooms at 07:30am.
 
However, we are babysitting tonight, so don't wait on me if I'm not there on time. A disturbed night could mean a longer lie and taking the train down.

Would love to come, but we have a 1st birthday in Liverpool on the 26th, so we'll probably be travelling down on the Friday. If we leave the travelling until the Saturday, then I should be able to make it.

Good run today. Bunch of 6 - Carol, Dave, Bill T., Graham, Anthony and myself - enjoyed the sunshine as the morning warmed up. Just over 50 miles for myself.

Good run and a welcome break from the grandkids. Thanks to Carol and Dave for organising.

Seven set off this morning, Bill, Anthony, Boyd, Graham, Ken (flying visit) Dave & Carol. Extended advertised route to Kilmaurs and cafe stop at Rendezvous cafe which is most accommodating for cyclists. Good quick and friendly service and offer to fill water bottles on departure. Bill had a rare puncture before Kilmaurs. Last one was just after the war. Left cafe refreshed and took farm roads to Auchentiber, Barmill and back down Bowfield hill. Good run in good company and dry weather. Dave

    Missed your update and turned up anyway. Fortunately Drew had seen my update and was able to hang on long enough to do the fit. Many thanks to Drew.

Well done, Graham. I would have tried to join you, but the chance of the first golf for a while was too much to miss. Will definitely try to get out tomorrow.

He's been very dignified in his fight against this debilitating scourge and hasn't publicised his perilous plight as he hates attention.
 
Billy is such a warrior that I'm sure, with your prayers, he will prevail.
