iain couttie got a reaction from EricL in This weekend?
mental pace is right, good wake up call for the legs, only three strong brave riders managed the whole ride, me Eric and a mental french guy i think he got a bit bored with the pace after the proper cyclists left. nice lad but i couldn't talk much as i was doing a gasping fish sort of thing most of the time. will be stronger next week.

Well, faster than I was at Invergordon, but a lot slower than I was looking for. 62:04, which is 18 seconds slower than my PB. Very warm day, a light easterly. Cramped up twice in the last 5, maybe cost me a PB, but still not as fast as I wanted to be.

The forecast was light rain, with a gentle southwesterly. The actual conditions were dry, with a gentle southwesterly, and cool, without being warm. I've just come off a hard training block, and was feeling tired, my activation session yesterday was awful, and I wasn't feeling good at all going into this.
I got to the turn in just under 37 minutes, blew up at 14.5 miles, took recovery until 16, then pushed it up as hard as I could over the last 8. My time?
65:47. That's a huge 3:30 faster than last year. A little slower than I hoped, but I'll take it just the same.

Well, you all say never again, but you never know. I said that the first time I rode it and I've now ridden it three times. It may say something about me right enough, but cycling is like that, full of mental exploits where the memory of the pain diminishes with time. It's a bit like one imagines giving birth is like; if women stuck to their initial reactions no family would have more than one child!
And besides, Charlie has his ride postponed until next year and we couldn't let him ride it by his self, could we?

I asked the same thing, but told only need a towel (and perhaps pillow for comfort). That was from David C though. I can picture him chuckling whilst cosey in his sleeping bag with me shivering under my towel...

Tough wee day in that wind with a few good climbs thrown in . Coutts forgot to mention the mountain bike had an engine in it

iain couttie got a reaction from ginty001 in 30 the day after DA Lumpy Largs
First club run of the year, thanks to mr mcginty for his patience, well until a mountain bike beat him up the old Largs road, his ego got a bit of a bashing. I think the panniers were the last straw.
