  1. Five left clubrooms this morning for sunny Largs. Bill, Boyd, AndyM, Carol & Dave. Good time made down to Port Glasgow, where  Bill had us stopped to admire a huge yacht tied up where a passing local advised us it has been there for a month and belongs to Mr Expedia !! . Pressed on to Wemyss Bay where we sheltered across from the station during a downpour and then pressed on to Largs into a bit of a headwind.. Bill and Boyd decided to carry on and skip the delights of the Bagel Basket. The rest Met Graham and Mia just leaving after a change of route for them. Three of us refuelled and scortched up the Haylie and home via Kilbirnie and track. A few firsts for AndyM..first Sunday run, first time up the Haylie and first time in the BB. Well done to all on what turned out to be a fairly dry day afterall.

    Dave and Carol.

  2. How about a trip to the Bagel Basket in Largs. .

Flatish route on the way out. Track to Kilmacolm, down the Clune, Port Glasgow, Greenock, Gourock, Gantocks, Inverkip, Wemyss Bay and then Largs. Return via Haylie Brae and Kilbirnie. Bail out option is train from Largs if anyone does not fancy the Haylie, but it is not that bad really and  will regroup at top. All welcome.

    Clubrooms 9.00am

  3. Really good night last night and great that quite a few people turned up. Thought we could have a regular night maybe every 4 - 6 weeks or so and

we could try different venues, what does everyone think of that ?

I think Dave and myself overindulged feeling a bit worse for wear but I loved that raspberry gin, thanks Sans for getting me into the gins change from

    bacardi and coke.

  4. Weather looking dry until about 1pm so how about heading to Dunlop Dairy just outside Stewarton. Can leave clubrooms and head along track to Kilbirnie, through industrial estate and cross over to MOD road to Highfield. Stewarton Road to Bloak Road to Dairy for coffee stop. Can return via Dunlop - Lugton.

    Who's coming out.

    Dave.

  5. Carol ,Mary and Dave started out in wet conditions but it eventually dried up. The cycle track from Dumbarton to Balloch alongside the Leven river has been tarmaced since the last time we rode it a few years ago and is an excellent flat, smooth and scenic route in places. We made our way to Lomond shores for a coffee, scone and cheesecake stop. Returned via Alexandria/ Renton road, over the bridge  and left Mary at the Georgetown turn off. Good to catch up with you Mary. Just over 40miles.  Carol

  6. Weather forecast looking abit wet for Sunday but if dry how about a run North of the Clyde to the shores of Loch Lomond,

Clubrooms at 9.00am  Moss Road to Erskine Bridge, clyde cycle track to Dumbarton and  then track following the River Leven. Coffee stop options at Balloch or Lomond Shores. Return via Bonhill. This is a fairly flat route on a good track surface.

  7. Sunday run to Dunlop Dairy.  Leave Clubrooms  Miller Street 9am. Bowfield Hill, Greenacres, Gateside, Barmill, Auchenmeade Farm, Stewarton Road to Bloak Road to Dunlop Dairy for coffee. Quiet roads suitable for all newbies and returners. Approx 38miles including return .

    Post up if coming out.

    Dave

  8. Thanks to Chung for posting the route and being the mechanic. If anyone has DT Swiss skewers, don't try and lever them off, they screw off...school boy error. Hopefully did not spoil the run which was done in warm weather for a change. Good company and good day to out on the bike as the photos above show. Thanks to all. Dave & Carol..
