A nice run in gorgeous weather (again) to Killearn. Found another cafe to add to the list - Town and Country.
75 miles for me which is longest this year!

Graham, I have checked the route we took in September last year and I know the route over the bridge. After that we pass through Gartness, cross over the A81 and come into Killearn from the north. On the map it actually looks a little shorter than taking the main road South and then turning left.

Miller street 9.00.
Route same as we did to Drymen. Graham knows a short cut over a wee bridge.
Choice of two cafes in Killearn
Return via Strathblane. About 55
miles ( Yes Carol, you can do it!)
Post if participating.

Paul C got a reaction from PaulL in Sunday 10th June - Eglington Country Park
Graham, Boyd, Dave C and me (The Golden Boys!) had a brisk run to Eglinton Park. Graham, fresh from his Tour of Britain, set a relentless pace!
We were passed on the Irvine Road by a racing bunch that included Paul McD and Ian.

Paul C got a reaction from chung in Sunday 3rd June : Drymen Loch Lomond
HAd a puncture on the way to the club and after a lot of pfaffing about trying to fix the problem set off 20 minutes behind the bunch who had waited until 9:10 for me.
Main bunch happened along. Thanks to Darren for helping with the puncture and the others for waiting. Owe you a tube, Darren.
After pushing hard met up with the guys at the cafe in Drymen. The Majorca stories were not boring - brought back memories!
Hard to believe but the cafe owner is more crabbie than the lady who used own the cafe in Strachur!!
Longest run this year 70 miles.

Paul C got a reaction from Iain67 in Sunday 18th Reliability #3 Sinclair Street
The first bunch of 6 maintained an excellent brisk pace with no mechanicals. Unanimous decision to stop at Corries cafe in Balloch as we were all suffering from heat exhaustion! Waved to main bunch from the window. My longest ride this year!

Cycling up the A77 yesterday I noticed that Chung's bollard has been removed. Maybe there have been other unfortunate incidents!!

Paul C reacted to Dave C in Sunday 20th Aug - Trip to Troon
Thanks to Paul for the route and the guys for the company. Brisk pace on the return when Martin finally took a spell up front as he had been saving himself on the way down, not that it was mentioned in the cafe. .

Paul C got a reaction from Ian Holms in Sunday 20th Aug - Trip to Troon
Carol Morna David Martin Alan Paul L Ian (The Cheeky Chappy) and me set off from club. Carol was time constrained so she stopped at Dunlop Dairy with Morna so they could discuss girlie topics. Rest of us pressed on to Troon for a pleasant cafe stop at Betsy's. Brisk run back withe no mechanicals and it stayed dry. Excellent!

Paul C reacted to BoydJohnston in Five Ferries Tuesday 25th July
A good day out, but not quite what was planned. Four of us pushed hard to get up to Lochranza in time for the ferry, only to find that the ferry had broken down and a replacement was going to take some time to get there (if it ever did), so we decided to carry on round Arran. We stopped at Shiskine Golf Club for a good lunch and some relief from the southerly breeze, before heading back round to Brodick.
The one good point was that Calmac took our complaint on board - they should not have sold us Five Ferries tickets at Ardrossan because the Lochranza ferry had broken down the previous day - since they refunded the tickets and gave us complimentary tickets to get back to Ardrossan, which paid for a beer at Brodick golf club before we left the island.

Paul C got a reaction from Ian Holms in Arran 22 July
I'll be at Castle Semple loch carpark 08:20 to meet those cycling from the club.
I aim to catch the return ferry at 16:40 so not bothered about the pub stop.
At the moment forecast showing wind ENE so that will help us on our way to Ardrossan.
