  1. Willie Assuming that nobody has got there first, I will take them off your hands. Will collapse into a car or is a van needed? Cheers Alan
  2. Not sure of the details yet but I am planning on riding out to the first climb on stage 1 of the TOB from Carnwath. Not sure of the distance yet, guess it will be a round trip of 55 - 60 miles, anybody who wants to join me are more than welcome and I'm sure I can sort out some sandwiches and cakes afterwards
  3. Ramsay We've never met so I don't know how tall you are but if your in the tall range then I have a Scott full suspension bike that I was about to sell, its had its fair share of knocks around the 7 stanes centres with a corresponding amount of fun. Would be a great replacement if you want to try more mountain biking but want to avoid forking out on a new bike Cheers Alan
  4. knee won't be ready for bike but could be in for the beer and entertainment.

    New clothing order

Jann What are the chances of being able to get a tri suit, I know Endura do them but do we have to order a minimum quantity Thanks Alan
  6. Sounds like a great weekend, I'll be up for it and will be a great motivator to get me out on the wet cold mornings over the winter as I am far from being able to do 250+ km's. Let me know when the night out is in the pub and I'll come across Alan
  7. Just signed up for the 100, all going well I'll try and meet you all about 6.45 Cheers Alan
  8. Greig Didn't realise there were other JWCC's there or I would have looked out for you, well done for getting round. Like you this was my first sportive and had no idea what the event would be like. The route and marshalling was far better than I was expecting and pulling myself away from the feed stops was difficult as the food was excellant. In my rashness, having done these sort of distances many years ago, I went for the full distance!! 105 miles later and well over 7000 feet of climbing I finally finished totally spent but had a great day, I'm sure we were up and down every significant climb in the borders!! For all those that want a climbing challenge this is the event to do next year Alan

  10. Kenny Another change of plans, going to be around on Thursday afterall, where and when do you suggest? Cheers Alan
  11. Assuming that I am not too jet lagged (sitting in New York as I type this) I will also be there for a kicking in the first group Alan
  12. Sounds good, I can't make the 2nd of June as I am out the country but will try for the 9th and see how I get on. While on the subject of racing could you pass on my entry to Ian for the Millport 10. Alan
  13. Assuming that I can get across in time I might have a go at these to remind myself what its like to race. Do the time bands apply to the last 3 years or life time bests? and how many of the events are needed to count towards the series? Alan
  14. Kenny I'm going to try and make it across in the morning, any chance you could post the final decision on the weather around 8 ish to give me time to get across Thanks Alan
  15. I've got 3 tickets for the Scotland v Ireland RBS 6 nations game on the 14th March, £45 each, the seats are behind the posts. We had the same seats for the Italy game so I can vouch for them being good. Anybody interested PM me. Thanks Alan
  16. Hi Kat I've got a Lemond, full titanium frame and rear triangle OCLV forks, ultegra chainset (old style), ultegra brakes and rear mech, seat post, saddle, stem and handlebars. Its set up for me a 6ft 2 so should fit OK, £250. PM me if your interested. Cheers Alan
  17. Kenny I would be up for this, can I suggest weekend mornings end of Feb / March to get some sharpness before the session starts Alan
  18. Without doubt the best place will be Glentress, a good mix of easy tracks to warm up on to tricky technical single track and the chances are you will have most of the tracks to yourself on Friday
  19. Both myself and Shazy (assuming she gets over he throat infection) are giving this a go. This being our first triathlon we no idea what to expect Alan
  20. Paul Count me in for the ambush possee, was that I you I saw this morning? Cheers Alan

    A Different Day Out

Colin I tend to ride a mixture of red and black trails with some blue thrown in for Sharon. This way go can avoid some of the busiest sections but stil get a good run in but it all depends on who wants to ride and their experience, we can sort out the final route on the day.
  22. Now that the summer is almost over who fancies a different day in the saddle. Sure some of you have been before but Glentress offers a different way to have a lot of fun and still have a good work out. Would there be any interest for a club run at Glentress on either the weekend after Millport (23rd September) or the week after 30th September. Those that don't have a mountain bike can easy hire one at the bike shop on site although forward booking is needed Alan
  23. I'll be up for this if we can put together a team of beginners or those making a come back. Not ridden a road bike for over 3 months and may need a push up the hill!! Alan
