Looking for 30 - 40 miles steady, probs with a few Jets to provide horsepower. Anyone up for it?

Forecast is only getting worse, so I'm going to postpone this event until mid April. Choices are Saturday 13th or Saturday 20th. The latter date is the Easter weekend, I think, so may not be suitable if people are away.
Please post up your preference.
Thanks Alan. Will check the youth racing calendar for clashes.

Is there any interest in this for Sunday? I have noticed it's clashing with an extended club run in the run up to Flanders, so I'm happy to move to Saturday if that's going to suit people better. It would also mean that I can ride as well.
i need an indication of numbers no later than Thursday night. If there are no takers, that means I get to hold onto the trophy for another year.......
Had advertised to Jets with some good response. Happy to delay till later in the year though.

Andrew Miller (dad of ex Jet Jess) gets my vote. Has done a number of jobs for us - excellent work. He would probably be able to recommend an architect too.
Will pm you his number

Good JWCC, Jets and PVCC turnout for the Don Smith ride... thanks for all the help! Looked like a fun but tough ride !
Thank you and all involved in organising and road checking and baking eclairs. Another fine event.

Anyone free over this weekend to check the short and medium routes for hazards/diversions/other for the risk assessments
Jets went round (most) of the week route today. We had to split our bunch and the leader of the main bunch took a wrong turn on the gateside road and ended up in Beith. This meant none of us rode the Bridesmill road.
Other than that course fine: just stuff we know. A bit rutted along the bottom of the Barrmill circuit and also a bit rough before the 30 sign at Howwood down the Bowfield.

I have a set of Navigator Pista Tubular rims that are taking up space and I have no use for. (no tubs fitted)
Happy to give them away - either to a Jet directly or if the club can make use. Thanks Stevie, I'm very sure a Jet would be delighted with that.

It's likely that I'll be following the Jets - from a distance. Hoping to hang onto them until Largs, because there's no way I'll stay with them up the Haylie Brae.
I'll keep them on a tight leash Boyd. No way I can hang on up the Haylie either.
A few of them will be at a 6 hour Scottish Cycling RACE training sesh on Saturday. Hopefully that takes some of the sting out of their legs.

Prospective new member Mairi Buchanan will join the ride as far as Langbank on Sunday with first bunch. Could someone please look after her and introduce her to bunch riding for an hour or so?
Is Mairi on the forum? She's very welcome to join us young jets for as long as she likes. Will make her welcome.

Thanks Alan.
Planning to be out at 9.00 with some Jets again this week. Want to keep them to 50 miles or thereabouts, so will follow your suggestion of bike track to the port and back up the Haylie.
All company welcome, if anyone else fancies doing less than the full route.

Wasn’t feeling great but so glad I came out. So impressed with the Jets; their fitness, road craft, discipline and kindness waiting at the top of Sinclair St. for us oldies.
You recovered well after a dodgy start. Good run.

Scott & Joseph won a prize. Think it was for closest to 27 mins?
A Jets pairing also won a prize but both pairs had left before the prize giving, as had quite a few other winners. A shame for the organiser.
Prerty grim day, blowing a gale and chucking it down by the time myself & Mr X set off. Couldn’t see a thing so just glad to get round without incident. My prize was a week in Spain with Mr X & Charlie. Booby Prize....
Thanks for the update Geo. Jets Sammy and Conal got a 27:08 which they were chuffed with for their first 2 up. Don't know if they were the prize winners, unfortunately they had to leave sharply to make piano lessons. As you say a shame for the organiser, but we are a cultured lot in the Jets

Planning on joining the 9 o'clock gang. Bringing 4 or 5 jets to put on the front and pull us along.

Don't care where it goes.
But I know where it needs to finish.
