Committee Alan McLean Posted April 13, 2016 Committee Report Share Posted April 13, 2016 I finally gave in and got driving glasses last year. I would like prescription Oakleys or similar sporty sunnies in case the sun ever comes out. Some of you kindly gave me advice on best way of getting a pair, which of course I promptly forgot. What's the simplest, fastest way of getting these? Online supplier? Optician?
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted April 13, 2016 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 13, 2016 Dunno about Oakleys, but Optilabs are good, if you are not wanting to pay through the nose for an expensive brand.
KennyS
I use Rudy Projects which have the prescription insert behind the flip up shades There was a pair in Dooley's last time I noticed. Think I paid my optician about £50 to put prescription in the insert
2023 Subscriptions XXX Posted April 14, 2016 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 14, 2016 Oakley lenses are about £130 from Blacks and Lizards when I looked at them this doesn't include frame costs
a.yeoman
I've got a pair of the Rudy project ones (same as Kenny Steels) , tinted, yellow and clear lenses. You can have them if you want - obviously prescription lens won't suit but easy enough to get an optician to make yours.
Mark O
I'm assuming that the need for driving glasses means one is short sighted Alan? Contact lenses and standard oakleys is my favoured option. M

2023 Subscriptions George Posted April 25, 2016 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 25, 2016 Maybe of no use for cycling but I recently had a prescription windscreen fitted in my car. Everyone driving towards me looks terrified...
