2023 Subscriptions thejanullrichdietplan Posted June 5, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 5, 2013 Well done As a newcomer to all this sort of stuff it surprises me a bit that road racing doesn't have a similar thing to the accreditation that the velodrome has before you can race. 2023 Subscriptions Gummers Posted June 5, 2013 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 5, 2013 I think rough luck indeed to Ross who was looking very strong sitting off the front. General view was that guy was to blame and will get a spanking from his ma no doubt! Chapeau to Hugh. He looked comfy in the bunch and his positioning looked great. I finally popped on the 5th lap. Was still pleased with overall improvement in fitness and positioning too. Just didn't have the legs to stay with the main bunch in the last 2 climbs. Final climb up Fereneze braes was a good climb and was feeling good again. Rode a bike loaned to me by Willie Cosh at Q Bikes (my bike is in for repair). Big thanks and respect to Willie and to Q Bikes. How decent is that!! Andy

2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted June 6, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 Guys I got a long email at 2.30am from the chap who 'instigated' the crash last night. He had just got back from hospital. He would like to pass on his sincere apologies to the affected JWCC riders. As always there are 2 sides to every story. On a personal note I apologised for referring to him as a nutter without understanding the whole picture. Bottom line is that road racing is dangerous, accidents do happen and you have to go into it with your eyes open. Guest Ross Toole
Having not read the e-mail, not sure what his comments were. However I'm still adamant (rightly or wrongly) it was down to one person with poor bike handling/not being able to cycle in a bunch. Agree accidents can happen potholes blow outs etc but I honestly believe this could of been avoided. Not to dirty the guys name more but I think he has previous of reckless stuff. Probably still a wee bit annoyed but just saying how I saw it! I promise I will be smiling and not mention it too many times on Saturday! Guest GEORGE DONNELLY
Ross, I don't think road racing is really for a sensitive wee flower like you. You ever consider taking up decoupage or feng shui?
Guest Ross Toole
lol, my mum is actually writing a letter as we speak to the head of british cycling and uci to make it a legal requirement to cycle wrapped in cotton wool!
