Guest
Is anyone doing this? I really fancy it. Entries open 7pm 16/01. Of those that have ridden b4, did u go down on the day or stay the night b4?
Kenny Christie
You can do this in a day George. Its about 2 hrs drive, the route is great taking in the Mennock Pass most years, a cat 1 Tour of Britain climb. The catering is second to none! The fact that your entry fee goes towards water aid makes it a truly worthwhile experience.
2023 Subscriptions charlie p Posted January 9, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted January 9, 2012 George Great event. Already pencilled in
Paul C
I did it last year. Due to the low numbers I could not get in a bunch and spent a most of the time by myself battling the horrific headwind. I may have another go. Note - the entry opens 7 pm 14th not 16th according to the website.
Kay10ant
was my first (and so far only) sportive. Steep hills, high winds, more hills, had a great time and was well feed at the end of it.
Richie Cross
Being a Dumfries boy, I've always meant to ride this. Fancy it as it's my weekend off. Some 'nice' roads down there. Probably the 62 miler for me just to enjoy it.
Colin McPhee
I'm planning on doing this as well Colin
2023 Subscriptions Tom Hill Posted January 9, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted January 9, 2012 I fancy this also, but I'll need to check dates with my better half as Heidi is also training for the Etape Caledonia. Tom
GreigS
I done this last year and really struggled to finish with the constant headwind giving it a miss this year but i am doing the scottish bike show sportive in April Greig
Guest
I will be on line to enter at "zero hour" if a few of us do enter we could perhaps look into travelling down together. The borders can be a scary place on your own.
Guest EPCC
Hincapie It's a breeze one or two small drags in the morning a slightly bigger drag in the afternoon and a great full tilt decent easy 106 miles
Richie Cross
For anyone else who is wondering what's being talked about http://drumlanrigchallenge.btck.co.uk/ Also, if there are a few of us planning to do it... 2)Should you want to enter with a friend or group, and only want an entry if you all are in, then send one email with all names in your group listed ( max 10 names ) please do not have anyone else in the group send an e mail.( but if more than 10 from your club wish to enter, send another email with the extra names). Only include names for those committed to entering. It seems that you can sign up for the full ride, do the 62 miles in the morning, stop for lunch and then do the 38 mile loop, or not, if you don't fancy it? Mark O
I'd be up for this as prep for Italyland. A club entry would appear a sensible approach. Marko
Guest
I agree with Mark. Club entry may be best option. Do those that rode last year have priority? Could someone enter us en masse if this is the case? Also-who will be near a computer at “opening time" for entries? Obviously I will be out clubbing with celeb types on Saturday night. Guest
It looks like we can enter up to ten people in a group entry. I'll be on line at the appointed hour so if anyone wants me to enter on your behalf drop me a pm or message below. n.b. I will enter you but you have to send payment to organiser by cheque or alternate means (see drumlanrig website for details) George.

Guest
Hi Jonathan, It's open to everyone, don't let those big bad main bunch types tell you otherwise. If you like, I can enter you on Saturday night or you can make your own arrangements. Just be quick, I think there are only 300 places.
