I'm still awaiting a response from tearfund and have just sent a follow up e-mail to try to get confirmation of how we stand. It seems a bit of an amateur set up. Tony Posted January 16, 2012 Report Share Posted January 16, 2012 George the steepest sections are about 25% - there are two of these, one near Tynron and one as you leave Moniaive. (Unless the route has changed in the last 2 years). They are both fairly short but brutal (think "C11" and you will get the idea). Apart from that the most noteworthy climb is the big drag up to Wanlockhead which is long but not that steep, mostly 5-10% I would say and no more than 15% at any point. Something to look forward to! It's a bit worrying when some of you chaps are talking about using a compact with 25 or 28! God help me!
