hi all,

Last week we covered quite a lot in our first session:

    flying dismount
    flying mount
    bike carry
    off-camber cornering

This week we'll focus on one specific technique which will be required for every one of the remaining CX races this season: hurdling.

Of course you may not need to, if you can do this: http://www.crosstube.net/Bunnyhopping/R ... _664c.html

Do it wrong and you could end up like this:

Do it right and you'll be flying:

Format for tomorrow night same as before: technique > practice > mini-circuit racing

Who's coming along?

PS this week we'll be training with lightweight plastic barriers. Real wooden ones to follow next week!

PPS £2 per rider to cover the cost of lights - double that if you had no cash last week (I wrote your names down :smash

Muddy good fun tonight as the rain and gales held off for hurdling 101.

Paul, Ramsay, James, Steve, Tom, Lewis and myself spent the first hour of the session practicing our technique and style on a tight circuit. The elbows came out and no prisoners were being taken as the competitive spirit came to the surface, so it was time for racing proper. A chance for Lewis to introduce the seniors to the delights of Tokyo drift, one of the most popular mini-races at Jets coaching.

The watching commisaire (Kenny Steele) was called in to investigate a possible "racing incident" in the first race, but Paul survived scrutiny ( ;-) ) to tie with Ramsay after they could not be separated.

In the second and final race Lewis took advantage of a two man crash by Paul and Tom to show the seniors how it's done and claim victory for the Jets. :smash:smash

Real (hard, wooden) hurdles next week. Come and join the fun!
