Richie Cross
This is a tough one having seen the finish. Thought it was going to one for the pure speed merchants. Have to go with my heart though 1) Cav - hope I haven't jinxed him! 2) EBH 3) Gilbert/Hushovd/Gilbert/Hushovd......Gilbert!

2023 Subscriptions Ramsay Posted September 25, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 25, 2011 Not changing my predictions, but having breakfast and thinking that while I'd love to see Cav winning, I actually think Geriant Thomas will be the best placed Brit. Anyway, didn't pick either, just some speculation whilst eating my wheetabix!
Richie Cross
Yeah, even though I'm desperate for Cav to win, and have picked him, I'm not sure if the wee uphill drag will be too much. Fingers crossed!
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted September 25, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 25, 2011 oh well race started - too late to change predictions. Can I draw the attention of the judge to extremely questionable behaviour by Bill Mac - if so and so rides then he is third, but if not then someone else!! What is that all about? Can I say - if it's a bunch sprint and if cav dosn't puncture and if filgil punctures and if thomas is able lead out cav then cav for the win ?!?! I say penalty points for Billy ok - off to the vets race at Dunfermline now

Richie Cross
Yeeeeeeesssssssssssss!!!! Absolutely brilliant! Watching the finish after nights Had a wee tear in my eye. Committee Alan McLean Posted September 26, 2011 Committee Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 Colin Good prediction Doesn't Paul get more than 2points for putting cav second? I thought it was double points. Anyway, what next?
Colin H
Double points for accurate place predictions only. Believe it or not I was swithering between EBH and Greipel. Went with EBH to hedge my bets just incase the uphill Sprint was too much for Greipel. Should have had more faith Lombardy next with a bonus announcment shortly. 2023 Subscriptions duncan thomson Posted September 26, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 Colin Regarding my "apparent" non prediction for men's race: A. Computer meltdown B. Rogue operator removes prediction C. Very busy weekend in hospital not home until early hours and forgot about race completely D. Agoraphobia means don't like being out there in the wind alone E. Give you all a chance Answers on a postcard please.... If you accept either A or B then as I obviously would have chosen Cav, can you just give me the points. In the spirit of things I will take standard and not double points. 2023 Subscriptions duncan thomson Posted September 27, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 Colin, I fear you may be correct. However I have decided to take my case to CAS http://www.tas-cas.org/ They have informed me that this a very serious matter and have agreed to put back the Contador vs Spanish meat producers in favour of my case. I believe the prior harsh handling of the Wiggo case may well swing it. duncan
Guest EPCC
As I am older and dyslexic can I request 1 More time to make my predictions ( after the race would be a reasonable adjustment ) 2 That because of my dyslexia you were unable to read that I actually posted the top three correctly in each race and it is your fault that you failed to identify that I had a spelling and word order issue. So therefore I will be appealing to the European court of human rights on the grounds that you did not let me win and its as the great black chicken with half its shell still on said It's an injustice it is
Colin H
Duncan, I look forward to hearing the outcome from the CAS sometime in 2013 Billy, Good luck with that......they are all too busy getting paid rediculous amounts of money to determine just what degree of curvature should a banana have before its no longer a banana Colin

2023 Subscriptions duncan thomson Posted October 2, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted October 2, 2011 How's about we run a wee cycling predictions competition for the 2011 Pro season??????? Was thinking about top 3 placings in each of the major classics, top 3 overall, top 3 sprinters and climbers and overall team for the major tours and top 3 in both time trial and road race in the World Championships. Scoring system as follows: 1st Place 10 points 2nd Place 7 points 3rd Place 4 points + 2 bonus points for each rider in the top 3 of each category no matter what order Top Team in major tours - 10 points Entries recieved up to the day before the race starts to allow for late withdrawls/suspension and bans for whatever reason. We could even introduce a club award for the best predictor at the end of year presentation night. As the season has started and Paris Nice and Tirreno Adriatico are or shortly will be under way would propose we start from Milan San Remo. Races included over the season would be as follows: Milan San Remo - 19/03/2011 Gent - Wevelgem - 27/03/2011 Tour of Flanders - 03/04/2011 Paris - Roubaix - 10/03/2011 Amstel Gold - 17/04/2011 La Fleche Wallone - 20/04/2011 Liege - Bastogne - Liege - 24/04/2011 Giro d'Italia - 07/05/2011 Criterium du Dauiphine - 05/06/2011 Tour De Suisse - 11/06/2011 Tour De France - 02/07/2011 Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian - 30/07/2011 Vuelta Espana - 20/08/2011 Vattenfall Classic - 21/08/2011 Giro Di Lombardia - 15/10/2011 Post here if you are interested and have any thoughts or suggestions and we can alter the above to suit. Colin Alan, sounds like Lombardia, two weeks to work out that Phil is still the Man duncan
