2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted December 2, 2010 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted December 2, 2010 Chaps Looks like Saturday is a write off. Sunday is hinting at a balmy 3 degrees. Is anyone interested in a plod round the coast from say 9am. Hard but steady? Possibly a heat up stop at Largs. PMcD

Kenny Christie
I admire your optimism Paul, but I will err on the side of caution. The forecast I just viewed predicated sub zero temps up until next Friday! Members Richard
You're unlikely to see me out and about, folks. I'm building up my new winter frame (and too scared of a spill.) When's the weather going to change, eh? It had better be soon. I have done a grand total of 16 miles this week. :-/

2023 Subscriptions David Thomson Posted December 3, 2010 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted December 3, 2010 Its not looking as optimistic anymore. When I posted the Met office was saying that it was going to get warmer. Think unless it changes soon I'l be going down to the clubrooms for a turbo sesh. DavieB
After yet another enriching week at work the prospect of some bracing coastal air to clear the cobwebs is very tempting especially as the cross at Irvine is off. That said the forecast, as general consensus agrees, is pretty dodgy. Will follow the posts and may come done for a turbo sesh. P.S. Would the Flandrians not laugh in the face of a wee bit of cold.........snow.......... ice even up the 20% pave of the (icy) bergs Davie
Members Richard
I'm building up my new winter frame Spill! See, we never talk any more, Kenny. It's a Kinesis Racelight T2. 2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted December 5, 2010 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted December 5, 2010 Darryl Thanks for your help out this morning - it was very handy even though you don't know it yet! I took the liberty of borrowing your back wheel after getting a puncture half way through the turbo session. Some info for the techies - Campag 10 speed cassette (yes I had to cross over to the dark side) runs fine with Sram 10 speed levers. DavieB
Darryl, I took a run over to the club rooms and the conditions on the larger roads was OK if you were a bit cautious and kept your eyes open - wouldn't have fancied it too much in a bunch though and definately no prospect of any farm watch special routes.
