    Utterly bonkers but brilliant.
Is there a strict time cut off for PBP proper? If so what is the minimum  required km/24hr?
Suggest you guys  write a little piece on kit/pacing/feeding strategies, or give a winter talk.

I'm up for this. So Non stop 2 up for 120 miles?
Haven't been on that side with a bike before so will be good to tag along for the tour.

You've a better chance of getting sprint points if the fast guys are at the TT

In consultation with thejanullrichdietplan, we have agreed to hold this event on a Thursday night in place of the usual chain gang.
The timing will be 7:00 meet for 7:15 off.
2 laps of a 5.3 mile hilly route (10.6 miles in total) with some challenging turns and a terrific descent, all in the small ring. An excellent introduction to time trialling for beginners, as well as a decent run for the more experienced. As an added bonus, large sections of the route have been re-surfaced, so there is some shiny new tarmac to ride on.
In keeping with the spirit of restricted gears, only those riding standard road bikes will be considered eligible for the trophy, i.e. no TT bikes, ski extensions, skinsuits or pointy hats please. Some of the more senior jets will also be welcome to ride in  event.
As normal, there will be a £3 entry fee, payable on the day, the proceeds going towards the costs of the awards at the end of the season.
    The course:

Please note that the start point has been moved to the duck pond where parking is better and traffic is slower. This should make the start a little safer for everyone.
Meet at the start at 07:00pm ready for first rider off at 7:15pm.
Volunteers are required to hold and timekeep please.

Update:  Route: https://www.strava.com/routes/19738575 with wheels rolling from 8am from Clubrooms

    Hi,
I'm thinking as it's the longest day this week, we'd be better taking advantage of the long days and go for a long ride!  So I propose heading across the bridge, Helensburgh, Garelochhead, Arrochar & The Rest, Strachur, and choice of two options:  home via Loch Eck with cafe at Sheila's Diner, ferry to Gourock and back via West Ferry or Clune, or keep going south from Strachur to Otter Ferry, (cafe at the wee hotel there) then home via C11, Loch Tarsan, Dunoon, and then ferry to Gourock and home via West Ferry/Clune.  Going via Otter Ferry adds on extra miles, elevation and time (circa 100 miles via Loch Eck and 120 miles via Otter Ferry).  Happy to go with the majority...
As it's a long run, are we good for wheels rolling from clubrooms at 8am?

Quick report for those who don't Facebook. Very successful weekend for the club at the nationals with 4 golds: Jamie T and Isla M both winning the youth B (under 14) scratch race and omnium.
Great racing from all our riders across all three days.

Regarding rotation direction, I don't think we should be changing it during ride. It does help a little with hiding from the wind but not worth it on a training ride...its all a bit of fun and a bit more wind resistance makes for a harder session...no pain no gain.

Enjoyed that today!  Good to see quite a few folk out to join us - thanks for coming along guys!  Charlie, Marc, Robbie, Al, Iain, and myself headed to Barrhead, up the dams, up Bonnyton Moor & the wind farm (great views from up there!!) and enjoyed a tailwind all the way to Fenwick.  Along the Kilmaurs Rd before heading to Stewarton for a nice cafe stop.  Then we headed to Beith via Lugton and back to base via cycle path from Lochwinnoch.  Not huge mileage but a bit hilly and enjoyable day.  Weather dry and also a wee bit sunny for some of the route.

2 groups making it a bunch of 9 set off in search of the promised sun-shine & hills over the Northside!
Got the hills but the sun only came out after we got completely soaked from Strathblane & into Killearn ..... boo ......... thankfully dry by the time we got to Fintry & the Crow!
Lovely cafe at Clachan of Campsies, then a blast back to the Bridge!
First time over the Kyber & the Crow for some, hope it’s not the last :-)
Thanks for the wheels & company today people!
    Cheers

Saw Don Smith at the velodrome today. Said he really enjoyed the Thursday Bunch AND he really likes our new kit. Says he's thinking about joining JWCC. Not quite sure why he ever left and joined Paisley Velo. Had a few comments complimenting the kit recently...

The intermediates group are doing Milngavie / Crow Rd / Killearn... given that there's only 4 of us, I'm quite happy to join them (there's also a really really nice cafe in Killearn!) - there is the option of heading to Aberfoyle and back via pipe track after the Crow, but I'm quite happy with Killearn tbh, and if you want more miles could add some on at the end eg Langbank, Netherton, West Glen, Kilmacolm.
    We cool with that?
