Stevie, my plan to attack this again had to take a back seat due to rasping throat after the Thursday night drenching, and tomorrow is committed to a ritual flogging on the Galeb /Marc express. So, well done you if no one else sneaks in tomorrow.
However, I will be back to reclaim the KOM

I took the easy option and did a road race today. It was much easier than last Sunday
 
 

A tropical storm through Bishopton, a car pulling out from a parking space going through Kilmacolm and almost taking a few out - lucky that the driver going the opposite way was alert because Richie and myself were forced into the other lane due to it. Then after the Houston roundabout a car had a close pass, honking its horn and then brake checked us. Probably missed some stuff too!

Very eventful indeed, there were 2 other incidents, as the sprint was unwinding for the intermediate a lads left crank literally fell off then about 50m later his chainset was bouncing along the road ! Never seen that in 30 years of cycling! In the final sprint a car tried to overtake, realised he wasn't going to make it so cut into the line and hit the brakes with the car coming the other way blasting its horn. Unreal. It was a night to be thankful no one was injured, hopefully no more of that next week.
Anyway Jan you and Mark were way ahead after the car incident at the final sprint. I was best of the rest.

 

Well done to Richard tonight breaking the Georgetown record for a fixed gear with a 14:56. 
That placed him 2nd overall to John A (who broke the record he set last week with a 13:20 - Katie also broke the womens record to with a 15:10!)

Another cracking night with a big bunch....all i can say is tonight is the last time i ride the Clune with any sort of panache....i am not the fat Pantani.

Can’t believe Jesse chased down Alan Mcb and me on the GT. We used to be mates. And word is Galeb was soft pedalling on the Westferry saving himself for the Clune. I need a faster pace to stop all this subterfuge.  Too much fun in this group. Not enough pain.
