Guys, I know I posted ride and it’s very poor form not to turn up after doing so but I won’t make it today. See you later.

Posting up early in an attempt to revive our dead parrot main bunch ride.
09:30 at club rooms. Businesslike pace. Track to Kilmalcolm-down Whinn-Spango-Largs-Kilwinning-Home.
Open to all, including Bogs Fetishists, Erskine Bridge CC, Cliquey Velo and any other splinter or sub-splinter groups. 😉

I'm up for a run, but haven't managed out much lately and would fancy a few more
miles, might head out a bit earlier round the Cloch, up the hill from Inverkip to Loch Thom with the aim of meeting you guys at the bottom of the Whin then on to BOW for a refreshment 🍺
Sounds good

Working. 🙄

Sorry to hear this. I knew Ian from when I first joined the club circa 1985. A really nice guy and a very good rider who was always generous with advice.
I was very good friends with his son, Ian jnr, for many years, like his dad, a very talented cyclist.

Jesus. Can you imagine this lot trying to use WhatsApp? At their age Whatnap is probably more appropriate 🙄

Seem to remember Darryl telling me about this? Some sort of collision?

Just to mention, I have booked a 2 bed apartment, sleeps 4 in 4 x single beds same road as XXX's gaff. We have me, Darryl and Tommy booked in so far. So first come first serve for the lucky 4th person who wants to avoid Georges evening patter FYI it cost 300 euros for 5 nights split between however many.
Next plan is to suss out a car like an Astra/Focus during Christmas holidays, I got one last year for about £40 for 3 or 4 days, this is good for 2 bodies and 2 bike bags, cheaper than a taxi normally for a short stay. Having been to XXX's you really don't need a car for anything but the option is there to stock up on liquid (milk and lashings of lemonade of course) and such like. Darryl is in this car with me - I will post up once I know price if two others want to do same.
Paul, I’ve sent you a message on Facebook prior to seeing this. Was in favour of taxi to avoid faff of picking up/dropping off car but if someone else is booking it and driving then I’ll go with your plan although I have a bike box which is considerably bigger than a bag. As for “liquid” as you know the big Supermercado is a few hundred yards away. We usually send Charlie & let him keep the change.

At least 4 of us flying out on Friday, with bikes. Taxi might be difficult. Maybe cheaper to hire 2 small cars. Paul and I are thinking along these lines.
I like your thinking. I imagine there’s a boundary charge when getting a taxi from elderslie so cars a better option 👍

Are you going out on the Saturday?
Friday. I imagine I will get a taxi with Darryl & Paul & whoever is staying with them. Darryl said he’s paying.

Will we get 4 bikes in one taxi?

40mph winds. Could be interesting, especially when you climb out of Stewarton 💨 wind 🌬

We already have the club forum, Facebook and Strava on the go. How much digital traffic do we need? Not for me.

Sorry people, I’ve been told today is a good day to go look at kitchens.

Glen, I will join you. I suppose 2 constitutes a bunch...
must have been a session last night if no-one has surfaced yet.
Lets go for the route I proposed above ⬆️

9:30 clubrooms - will defo be out as hockey tournament cancelled due to weather. Plan to stick to main roads not sure of route 50-60 steady miles with coffee and cake
Steady miles to get back into it post of coming along 👍 forecast looks lovely !!
Suggest coast to Largs then back via West Kilbride as roads least likely to be icy.
