I've booked 12-2pm but I think the 12-1pm session is full. Billy is coming. Probably do some 3 lap sprints (no overtaking until lap 3). And some Russian steps prior, to tire Billy out.

Billy was talking at me yesterday. I generally try not to listen, however, I’m sure that he was droning in about how he easily outsprinted you last week.
Does this put him in that elite band to have done so?
The elite band indeed. Beat Paul McDonald at the weekend. Cigar and whiskey as I type.

Billy. Iain and I are booked for 12 noon. We do some Russian steps to tire Billy and then 3 lap sprints to finish him off.
I'll text you Billy if you are still barred.

Planning 3 efforts:
The JWCC Hill climb https://www.strava.com/segments/1743318 (about 2mins)
Shutterflat to Greenacres corner https://www.strava.com/segments/3970646 (about 4mins)
Shutterflat Legbuster 1 https://www.strava.com/segments/10169992 (about 1min 30s)
I see Iain Mct has had a recent attempt at the 4min segment - a couple of lead out men might be needed here.
The JWCC Hill climb is impossible - there must have been a NW hurricane in 2015 and 2016 - Richard and Robbie otherwise are total freaks.
BUT I do the think Shutterflat Legbuster KoM is for the taking.
Hope I might persuade fellow hill climbers to see tomorrow as a great training session and keep me company. I've chosen efforts with a following wind btw

I'm booked in for Thursday 12 noon and 1pm sessions.12 noon session often fills up but for the procrastinators the 1pm session should be ok to the last minute.

A cool night, sunny and very light wind. Well done to all the riders, and the 2 PBers. Thanks to Carol and Ian Mcginty for helping out.
£18 transferred to the club account.
Perfect dress rehearsal - Billy is my minute man on Saturday. Would I love to catch him.

I'd like to warn everyone never to let Crazy Ivan (aka Galeb) to plan a route. He only knows A roads and dual carriageways. And then he only goes at one pace which he calls tempo. Second worse ride of my life after the Rest and be Thankful last year with Paul McD and Richie Provan.

I'm posting this from Provence. Can we re-introduce the intermediate sprint at Houston? New road surface is going to be fantastic. And I have a cunning plan when I get back from my secret training camp.
-
Cedric's on holiday so should be calmer... hope to have Katie tagging along so I'll be saving myself for the sprint

Iain McT and I are going to have a 2up TT bash irrespective. We will be at the start at 7pm. Plan is to beat Alan Mcbride's GT best solo time on Strava. I'm hoping we can go 20 to 30s faster as a 2 up but I'm not betting on it. Weather forecast looks fine btw.

You saying Frenchman can’t hurt themselves for 15 minutes? Cedric must be able to knock out a sub 16.
Failed today in my attempt to go under 2 hours for 50 miles. So sore it took me 5 minutes to peel me off the bike. So sore I’m kind of proud of myself
Yes, you are probably right about the French. They’re too smart

Not planning on racing at the moment...family commitments. But for now I'm happy with the buzz of smashing it round the coast and joining the weekly chaingangs
One day when I have a bit more time...
Ask Alex Baird about time priorities. Best to say you have better things to do.

How did you get on today Ian? Events transpired against me this week and I wasn’t feeling up to a cat 2 kicking!
Very safe race. I was a bit cautious given the standard of the field and in retrospect wish I had been more active. Finished in the bunch like a true Chipper.

That was a good blast! As I set off for a solo ride Marc turned up and it was the usual 2up . We did the usual route but backwards this time for a change...it was hard going in the wind and a lumpy start that shocked the legs. Few lumps in and we were off full TT mode heart rate at threshold and smashing to Largs. A quick snack on the bike and then back into full gas mode back home.
Good workout and thanks for the company Marc!
PS Anyone planning on racing or is racing this year...this would be a good session!
Ivy RR today. Bet my session was harder than yours lol. Solo JWCC rider. When are you guys going to race?

I cant believe I was only 4s off my (somewhat modest) PB up the clune, I should have emptied the tank but then you have to play your cards wisely
Brains versus brawn I guess. Sometime you got to switch off that calculator brain and join us grunts Paul. Good for the soul; spent and stupid. Works for me every ride.
-
Probably as good a night as you ever get for climbing the Clune. Hope there were a few PR's. I was 16s off my best but got caught behind cars that were caught behind the Heggies bunch. Must be worth at least 30s lol. Can't believe Paul McD won the sprint with that tailwind. A man for all conditions. Unbeatable.

Crematorium.

There'll be a chain gang in the sky cursing him for surging through too fast. Very sad news.

Another good training ride today with Marc. Full on 2-up TT mode from the start...we kept a fast pace to largs then onto the head wind where pace slowed down but we were still working hard and kept it going...no mucking around, no stopping and eating snacks on the go...just like Arran ...we managed to average just under 22mph.
Thanks for the company Marc. If we can get a couple more out would be good...I dont mind solo rides - good charecter building, but its also good to have some wheels to chase sometimes makes you push that little bit harder that makes the difference.
Keep posting the rides Galeb. I’m targeting a 50 mile TT on 8 July so these rides would be great. But we are in the middle of the race season... no coffee stops on them. (but races being Sundays most, Saturdays are rest days). Renfrew Bunch on a Tuesday will get you a good tempo ride too. Otherwise we are all consigned to Zwift.
