I agree with the guys, this was a very well organised event, in a stunning part of the country on great roads... we stayed in a quaint wee village called Kettlewell in 4 different lodging all within about 100 yrds of each other and had a meal in the local hotel, food was great and for once we went easy on the pints, only 3 or 4 max .. as for the ride itself, no-one has exaggerated how tough this was, easily as tough as anything I've done before including the Fred and the Marmotte Pyrenees, it seemed that every single climb had sections in the high teens or low 20's plus a couple of 25 percents that seemed to go on for ages... as usual the company was great, so despite the pain it was a really enjoyable day in a masochistic kind of way.. Slept like a baby when I got home.. mcginty

Just asking for a friend whose looking for his first road bike... he’s 5’11, so I’m thinking a 56cm would be ideal .. something used but decent, Shimano 105 level kit in good nick, probably alloy frame .. if anyone is looking to sell please let me know . cheers ian

yes , i'll join youse... groundhog day for me, will be my 3rd in 4 weeks on this route.... think Davie Cathcart will be joining too..see youse at the bridge i would suggest the old road up the Rest, the main road has been really busy the past few weeks

once again I can't make the Sunday ride, so planning another decent mileage run on Saturday, probably leaving Bishopton at 9am. Route yet to be decided, but hoping for decent miles...company welcome.. McGinty

Myself and possibly big Jim Killoran are heading out tomorrow. Going to ride down to catch the 9.16am wee ferry over to Kilcreggan, take a left and head for Coulport, Military Rd, Arrochar, the Rest, Strachur (maybe via Hellls Glen) , Dunoon and ferry back to Gourock… company welcome.. weather should be great.. Pace will not be tough, as i'm in start-up mode at the moment... McGinty

Won’t be out the whole route , will be turning at some point to be home for 12

next year might be a non-starter for me for any trip, as its the wife's 50th , and I think she's planning a pile of stuff that might use up all the funds for that kind of stuff...

loved it, think I will do it again .. probably some of the best scenery I've ever seen...

where's the quickest way to see results of races these days, given that the Braveheart site seems to be pretty rarely used these days
