Tubeless tires are shredding on my summer bike so I had to put trainer tire on my winter bike then had to change pm cranks which are on my TT bike and I started all this when I got back from work at 1730 so you can imagine how all THAT went....
Going for a (distanced) run instead...

Much lol. My pm did not register at start so I began about 1 minute after first group. Was overtaken after 10 mins by fast guys. Then 20 minutes of full gas with Brookes(thanks) before I felt rain on my back and slid off rollers. The tubeless tyre punctured and sprayed me and roller with sealant creating real life skid hazard. That was a sign to give up. Very silly.

Aaagh. I was waiting at the start when my pm battery decided to pack in. I think I am missing one ride in three due to Bluetooth/pm/phone problems. 
Still having beer though.....

BTW. Excellent fun. Totally shredded by the first two from scratch group who passed us v early, then a couple more including Mike. Lifelike anxiety waiting for your name to pop up in the chase group!

I think the idea is that you have a flying start, already doing about 5w/kg as the gun goes! I am going to try tomorrow. Probably means I'll blow up even earlier. We shall look back on this thread and laugh.

If I am dropped and meet another Wheeler I suggest we neutralise and try to cruise at 2.5-3w/kg for the duration. I have not yet tried "drafting".  
I have to plan all this in advance because I cannot text in game. So sad that I have come to this level of nerdism.

Darryl, one suggestion is to rev up and hit the start super hard. Might be an April fool but I will give it a try. 

Thats cos I was stuck about 1k behind you for first 5 mins. It was our algorithm overlords who were laughing at you. Mwah ha ha.

Paul is right about power meters. I was in a rush today and just threw my road bike with Stages pm on the rollers in front of smart TV. Worked fine. Did not get the resistance feedback on hills but just had to work harder to keep up.
Of course I fell off a couple of times trying to "corner" my avatar and I couldn't fiddle with my phone but otherwise great.

Thanks chaps. Only time I've laughed in the last two days. We are going to have SUCH a big club Arran attack once this is over.

Top organisation from Greg. Good run, my character was built on the Dundonald hill. Also very impressed by the speed we went through Irvine. No messing about with  B roads, just straight through, it might catch on.

Splendid start to the new year. We had about twenty riders in the two groups. ta Dave and Greg for organisation.
