Beautiful ferry trip back 50 years to rothesay with sunlit views up and down the Clyde. The sign on was super friendly on soft dry grass with tea and cakes in abundance. 20 deg heat in late summer sunshine. Lots of old friends from our rival clubs hanging out. Fantastic neutralised start from the centre of rothesay in a bunch of 100 riders led out by the local police car. Hard riding. Rush to catch ferry home and watch the sun sink over Argyll. "Take a ferry to a cx race in beautiful weather and scenery?" If this was France you would have to book it a year in advance. Epic. And only Davie, Paul and I were riding. Was a tough race and was plagued with my chain popping off.... but really enjoyable non the less great to see Alan and Davie there. DavieB Posted September 18, 2016 Report Share Posted September 18, 2016 Was fun but a real shock to the system after doing nowt for most of the year. Results and times now on my laps. Very impressive by Alan as not lapped & best in class for the (really) old gits though he blew all his winnings on bevy and coke on the ferry back home & ended up raving about it being better than a trip on the Trans Siberian Express.
