Guest EPCC
By the way Does anybody know how to put a chain on ? Apparently you run it outside the chain stay Well you do if your Name is Mark O He's been eating too much lately and although he will say it's the gym work and his massive power it is actually his excessive weight that caused his chain to snap and then the demonstration on how not to put your chain on Mark O
Life Members chung Posted November 24, 2013 Life Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 Billy, Did Marks chain snapped again? Mark, Don't want to say I told you so, but I did tell you so! :-) Hope you got home ok though! Got to Anniesland after leaving you guys at Gourock only to find that the game was cancelled due to cold weather & frozen pitch! Clever me! Cheers Chung
Guest George
Good to get out again after being so desperately ill. Baltic with numb fingers to start with but soon warmed up. Yes. mark gets an A plus for acrobatic ability after his chain pinged. Must have hit every inch of his undercarriage on bars, stem & crossbar as he struggled to stay on his bike. The comedy gold that followed as he re-assembled what was left of the chain outside the chainstay made the wait most worthwhile. Taking photos of his gaffe as he tried to remedy it was rather poor form too but I just couldn't help myself Hamoc award already done & dusted :) Almost feel guilty at my howls of laughter & derision. Almost.... Mark O
Mark O
Not much I can add other than.......Ta Da!, both in regards to my school boy error and my staying up right. No mitigating arguments offered as I fear further derision would follow. Undercarriage remains intact however I expect a belter of a bruise on my thigh. Guess it could have been a lot worse. Apologies for scaring the bejesus out of Ginty and chapeau to the character assassins for doing their worst - pair of unmentionables. New chain will be duly purchased and correctly fitted. I'll video myself fitting said chain and if I balls that up too I'll claim my first viral YouTube hit. A pretty good day out all the same. Mark O
Follow up.....Chung did you say those hardy rugby types wimped out due to it being a bit chilly? Aw! the wee lambs. Their coaches should be advised of rule #5, no?

2023 Subscriptions AlanT Posted November 24, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 Good run out today, if a bit on the cool side. Mark did really well to stay on in the immediate aftermath of his episode, but then did the schoolboy error bit. Oopsy!
2023 Subscriptions ginty001 Posted November 24, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 Great run today, unlike Billy my legs were sore at end, and I too watched the footy with a glass of red. Lookin forward to more of the same this winter. Well done Mark, fine piece of bike handling, good luck putting your new chain on during the week.
