Me and Marc at the start line for some hill intervals through some quite country lanes. To finish it off we emptied the tanks on Georgetown stretch before we raised our arms for glory

Did a solo sunny ride which ended the same as the main bunch route. I didnt expect to meet bunch at the start of Fairlie Moor as they started ride earlier then mine, but it seems they had a few punctures on the way. Said hello and just worked my way up the rather large stringed bunch until I passed them. Havent seen the crashes but hope all is okay.
With wind in the right direction thought I would give the Brisbane Glen segment a go. Went up the hilly bit nice and steady and was planning to put the hammer down halfway through the segment. Just as I did that round a corner and a big pot hole across the whole road! With limited time I just chose a path and went for it but back wheel hit a steep bit of the hole and got a pinch puncture (second one this week!). Chucked it after that and continued with a steady pace to home. Before puncture was just under 2 mins down on KoM so could have squeaked in the top ten.

Utterly brilliant day on Arran and 3 new members of the SA Hall of Fame. Fantastic, and many congrats to SA Rookies Sam McGrath, Colin Sales and Alan Hendry, who were joined by seasoned SA vets Jan McTavish, Mark Kelly, Andy Gumley and myself. So 7 started as a team and 7 finished as a team. Also took all the rankings from 2nd to 6th or something on the Strava segment.
This was a rarer anti clockwise assault due to the predicted wind, however there was near zero wind all day. Very smooth paceline with much encouragement in evidence. Lots of resurfaced roads helped and I reckon this could be a year for records. Still some pretty grisly bits mind you.
Weather was probably the best I have ever seen on Arran and I have been there a lot! Truly heaven on earth.
So now you have a taste guys, set your sights on the Grand Daddy of them all - the DA in August. As I may have said somewhere before, this is a monumental and life changing experience that you will regale your grandchildren with, you will have it engraved on your gravestone, you will forever remember the single biggest day of your life. You will feel immortal.
To round it all off me and Jan rode over the Ross to meet my two girls at the Velo café, then clung on to their wheels to get back for the 1.55pm ferry as we were both tank empty status. 86 miles and 2,000m of ascent made for a fantastic day out.

Was a good run tonight. Bit messy on Georgetown road to the finish. Who's idea was to go through the inside rather than outside . Made sense with the wind direction but it seems bunch didnt get it.
Managed to run over big hole on way home with bunch and got a puncture. Got new tube in and it seems it had a hole in it before hand. Good thing I had a patch kit that sorted it out. Last thing you want when your sweaty and its starting to get cold.

That felt harder than last week, with the pace picking up a notch after the roadworks, and then again up Bishy hill.
First time I've made it to the end though, even if I did blow up a bit on the Georgetown.
    Roll on next week.

We were fortunate to witness one of the great comebacks in sporting history tonight......with Charlie getting some points in the sprint after a week in Augusta giving Tiger Woods some golfing tips. Decent return from Ross too.

Jwcc group of 6. Major cock up where meeting led to delayed start. Myself Billy John Iain couttie & ian carvill eventually left from clubrooms and headed for Bowfield. Picked up Mr Gumley on the way. Carvill called it a day just after reservoir. John Clark got a puncture at the canny man. His attempt at changing tube was of Hamoc  proportions. So 1 hour later( a bit  of poetic licence)we were back on road. Left Andy at stewarton and decided to do sewing bee route after a leisurely coffee stop in Stewarton. Faultless ride back to top of Dalek hill when disaster struck Billy. George had clearly got out his voodoo Billy doll as his rear mech sheared off. John redeemed himself as he had all the tools ( including chain link) to fix to a fixie. However George’s voodoo magic ran deep as Billy’s chain was buckled and we had to push him to Glennifer braes road.
Still a cracking ride & can not believe how many bailed out.
