Dave C got a reaction from Fiona in Sunday 6th Jan :Eglington Country Park
The girls outnumbered the boys here with five at the starting line...Elaine, Mia, Linda, Carol C and newbie Fiona with Charlie, Dave , Boyd and Andrew leaving Miller St.
Carol and Boyd peeled off at Howwood with the remaining seven heading up Bowfield hill into heavy mist/fog which was with us most of the way to Eglington Park
for the coffee stop. Cleared up a bit on way home via Blair road, MOD road and through Beith to cycle track. Thanks for the good company guys and girls.

if you were looking for iced tea or iced coffee, today was the day!! Never seen the Bowfield hill as icy as this morning and good decision to head for coffee  stop at country  club. Good sized bunch out and can try for Dunlop Dairy another day.

Can try last weeks run again if conditions better.
Can we say 9.30am at Clubrooms as now fairly dark first thing and allows any frost to thaw.
Route can be Bowfield, Lugton , Dunlop or longer way up Rannoch Road, Uplawmoor.etc
    Please post if coming.

Five of us met at the Clubroom this morning - Alex, John, Martin, Scott & myself set off optimistically looking for the sun :-)
Instead we got a constant drizzle throughout, but no matter, the company & the spirit made up for it!
Quick cafe stop in Kilmalcolm, where we bumped into Alan & Ross who was out earlier & already enjoying a big breakfast as we sat down!
After that we all headed home nice & early to earn extra brownie points since it seems like we’ve all been spending a small fortune on new bikes recently :-)
Kudos to Martin for grinding up those steep hills with a massive 39-18 gear on his hastily build up steel is real winter bike, big up!
Thanks again for the company & wheels chaps!
Hope to see youse on Friday at Amaretto!
    Cheers

Change of route today for me and Boyd. More of an urban route to start , along Paisley Road West, then Pollockshaws, MearnsCentre, then rural roads to Neilston, Dalek hill and back to Johnstone. soaked for last half hour, but thanks to Boyd for the route, and glad we went out.

Good run today. Boyd, Andy, Ken and myself. Ken left us at Lugton and we carried on to Stewarton and then farm roads to Montgreenan and then eventually made it to Tournament Cafe in the park for huge scones and cream. Returned via Blair Road and Kilburnie to cycle track and then made it home despite Andys rear cassette working loose and sounding like a ghost train.
Drum up possibly next week, so will check thread if on.

    Hi All,
It's that time of the year again, folks - yes, the much anticipated Drum-up on the shores of Loch Eck, where everyone pretends to be a contender on master chef, but in reality, there is only ONE - our own Gerard D
I have been asked by a few as to if/when this is on!
Obviously it's Geoff & Linda Smith & Iain Lochrane's gig, so I need to find out the details first before confirming. But I would imagine it'll be the coming next Sundays before November ........
As soon as I have confirmation, I will post up to let youse know & you can send of any dietary request to Gerard so he can be well "prepared" .................. I heard lobsters are great for BBQ
    Cheers

Thank you to David and that lovely new lady, Carol for timekeeping tonight.  I do hope we see more of her out on a bike.  A bit of a shame for Keir not getting a shot though.  Good times all round, especially Joseph’s P.B., but I was not impressed at having to slow down for a queue of traffic behind a ****** tractor going into Houston.  It is the game we play so hard cheese.

Thanks to Carol and Dave for holding and timekeeping tonight, and well done to Joseph on a new PB. Unlucky for Keri Gaffney, suffering a mechanical before the start, there's still next week.
I felt that was a hard night tonight, with probably my best output all year, just not reflected in the time. Oh well.
