Input from a newbie, have been enjoying the chaingang in the current format and feel it is great for bringing you on, I feel it’s really helping me along both with advice from all the other riders and fitness etc which in turn helps me in the bunch. The neutralisation zones are a welcome addition as surfaces are terrible and seem to be workng well and give me a moment to catch my breath. Granted there has been a few incidents  with drivers however I feel we would still have that issue if not more in 2 or 3 groups. The quick briefing pre start worked well a few weeks ago, maybe having each week might be an idea to see if there are any concerns about that evening ie, the current weather conditions may suggest quick regroup after certain areas where coming off is highly likely.  Also if anyone has any input of current spills etc on the route
Safety in numbers! There are a lot of people out there who are exceptionally bad drivers and others  who simply detest cyclists.

Is anyone doing this next year or any other similar rides around this as needs to be term holidays for me. Interested if anyone is doing or thinking of doing...? Or having spoken to Paul Leavy maybe Mallorca sounds good, will see nearer the time

Another day, another kicking for me.
Think I’ll sack the cycling next time & just go direct to Amaretto.

A fantastic day out in really fine weather for a nice route down Largs and over Fairlie Moor and back to Largs, then home via Brisbane Glen. A quick visit to Amaretto was most enjoyable.  Seemed to be climbing okay today, that will be a one off then.

Great bunch last night & it was a Carlsberg weather day.Neutralised zone at BOW lights was great idea as road a mess. Take note James McLaren. 

Can't make this one, have the Pitlochry Etape on sunday, would have liked that route, will be next week for me

Well, I didn’t have the best start today, notice I had a flat rear wheel (it was fine when I pumped up the tyre last night) upon picking up the bike to head out  Damn, had to take the clean bike out despite the wet road this morning, oh well!
But the weather got a lot lot better as the day went on, so glad for Iain’s flexible route change & McGinty took us up a climb just after the cafe in Kilcreggan, 19.5% at the steepest point, bugger! But the view was nice though :-)
Raymond had a wee chain issue coming down into Farslane and I had my second flat on the day just coming into Balloch, first tubular puncture for me in a while. But before you can say ...... “why the heck you want to ride tubs, you silly sausage?” I had replaced it with my spare tub with a little help from Paul, James & Glen of course :-) & got going again pretty sharpish!
Left the Bunch just before the bridge & made my way home solo!
Managed my first ton on the summer bike this year, thanks for the wheels & company again today Wheelers!
P.S Mul’s Bianchi looks a million dollars, now James - go and get that F10 you’ve set you eyes on! :-) None of that titanium nonsense

Cracking day on the bike and why go abroad when you have days like that in Scotland. long may this weather continue.......

Great run and 1st attempt at Glen Douglas climb, Always harder when you don't know it, well thats my excuse....fast pace back to balloch was good although needed caffeine fix by them.....
