  1. .....or a reprise of Del-boy falling through the pub bar!
  2. Plan to be out for this. Hoping for dry days and roads ahead so winter bike rules (muddies or lack of) need not be an issue. nota bene ~ clocks are bouncing BACK, providing an extra hour to get ready or sleep!
  3. very enjoyable ride today, good route, some of our favourite hills and a dry day! (& the BB)
  4. Finish 482 Paul Leavy 334 14:52:21 5:22:21 MV40 Johnstone Wheelers Finished Good to know our boy is safely in, looking forward to the report!
  5. Tuesday suits, as do Mondays or Wednesdays.
  6. Stevie, still to see from the guys which route is on. Both suggested rides are fairly straight forward and shouldn't need a map, we stick together! If Kilcreggan then it's likely to be meet at south end of Erskine Bridge and then ride to Helensburgh with options of straight through to Faslane or up to Glen Fruin, then onwards to loop Rosneath Peninsula & back. The original ride idea is described at the top of post by Ginty. Hope to see you along whichever way we go.
  7. Should be ok for this, either route is great....Kilcreggan is likley to be a bit quicker back for IainC... and a good café too ( as recommended by Chung!)
  8. Not used to this hard work! Fell of the back twice after so many efforts, downside of a smaller bunch always surging forward it seemed. Result was a couple of high tempo solo runs TT -style! Bad luck James but pleased to learn Mrs S was on hand with the recovery vehicle. Was a good dry evening for the bike.
  9. Agreed, a good run tonight and glad it stayed dry, cheers to Charlie and Greg!
  10. Best wishes to the intrepid explorers on their extreme weight loss plan. You'll probably return as half the men you used to be!
  11. Should be good for this.....at bridge.

    Two Up TT & TTTT

Strong squads George, perhaps a wee side bet between teams for some friendly competition and intra club bragging rights? Is the time taken on 4th man over the line or 3rd? Bon chance!
  13. Nice wee ride this morning, fairly standard track/Haylie/Largs/Brisbane route - rarely anything other than enjoyable, as is the BB cafe stop! Alex completed an acrobatic display and now joins IainC and PaulL of Wheelers visitors to the gorse bush on the golf course descent from Loch Thom, ouch!
  14. A good ride today that changed its description and evolved as we went along! Big bunch of 12 kicked off and enjoyed largely quiet roads and a dry warm day (home before the first shower!), outside tables at BB once again for the café stop. Pleased to see Brisbane Glen open to traffic at last and nice new tarmac on part of the higher stretch.
  15. I'll meet at Ardrossan, also aiming for 16.40 return from Brodick as must be away sharp.
  16. I enjoyed last year's 'social' Arran so am a hopeful starter for the 2017 edition if I can fit it in. One point to note, the 9.45 ferry being the more sensibly timed departure on Saturday (earlier is about 7 I think) so could be busy with cyclists and day-trippers if weather is good. I am aware of one bunch of c30 doing a 5 Ferries on the 22nd (WCVelo) and they will be at Ardrossan at the same time as JWCC. There is no pre-booking for ferries so don't be late down, buy your ticket and get a place in the bike queue early! The good news is WCVelo will not need a return trip from Brodick!
  17. Was a good day out in sunny N.Ayrshire, thanks DavieB, an incredible number of new roads/lanes/tracks weaving through the countryside and enough 'merde' (quote Billy) to require a thorough bike clean later on. We eventually appeared out on Stevenston main street and headed north up the coast road. Outside table at BB in Largs enjoying the sun and chat before an assault of Haylie and charge to Kilbirnie then onwards home. A great variety of rides posted today on JWCC Strava... a busy day out and well done Darryl and DavidC on their 2 day epic.
