  1. I have a plan now that Richard has made me aware of bolt extractors. So I hopefully should not be messaging you asking about your favourite cake to use as a payment.
  2. Currently looking at a couple of quid for a drill bit. Then a bit more for a bolt extractor. Then the presentation, with slides and diagrams, to the financial department for the case for buying a new bike...

    A bolt

The head of the bolt holding on my rear mudguard has come off, it came away quite easily and now the remainder of the bolt is stuck in the frame. I need to put the mudguard back on along with a rear rack so I need to get it out and still be able to put a bolt back in. Any suggestions?
  4. I may join in, night out before and we have not designated the driver.
  5. We are meeting at the clubrooms at 1100, Stewarton and the dams and Paisley. It will be nice if you were to join us.
  6. This looks exceptionally gorgeous. Will it be too nice to take out cycling?
  7. As always a great cycle with the club, nice to finish in the bar and I hope everyone else made it home afterwards. Must cut back on the drinking (soon) and get over this cough to get a bit of form back.
  8. I like the look of this, burn off some calories so I can consume more.
  9. Just had a look at the weather forecast and I think it is not the best for cycling.
  10. Here is my £3.14 worth on this. 1.Eat less pies and learn to climb hills. 2.Get stronger and learn to go fast. 3.Sub 16 minutes on the Georgetown. 4.Low 23 minutes on the Westferry. Do not expect me to be too serious about this though, as I will probably just be mucking about and having fun with the club as usual.
  11. I am up for this, what is the plan?
  12. This Bellahouston one...how many times round the track is it exactly? I know I will either think I have finished one lap early or keep a final push for the lap after it is over.
  13. This has me interested and I got a favourable response when I presented the idea tonight. Let me know more and I see if it is do-able for me. If I am coming I can offer spaces on my car for bikes and passengers.
  14. Looks like a bit of fun, I will try to get them all. Also I do not trust the current KoM on this section.
  15. A cold start with Chung from my house this morning, but a clear day with a great ride was ahead. Took Old Greenock Road along to the bottom of the Clune to meet Carol, Graham and Dave for the ride along to the ferry. At the shop to get ferry tickets another bunch of Wheelers rolled up too. A sizeable group of cyclist boarded the ferry for the run round to Loch Eck. It is such a nice road round and there is a welcome break at the top of the climb. Special mention to Ian for popping up and down the climbs just to check how others were doing after a mechanical. The campfire is the usual scene of fun with food with the bar being provides by Paul, which allowed a toast to Alex Baird in a setting that he would surely approve of. A nice steady run back at an easy pace to get our ferry. A unique run in the calendar in fantastic scenery that is worth the extra effort of loading up the bike a bit and all the more amazing when the sun shines all day.
  16. Some of us carry more than an energy bar for this! I reckon a little bit over half an hour of actual cycling, but there is always a stop at the shop for tickets and supplies. Rounding it down to 0900h is just simpler, keeps the pace nice and sociable without any pressure to make the ferry. I will be impressed at any PBs you get, but you can always put that effort in another day.
  17. Anyone planning on being at the bottom of the Clune at 0900?
  18. Meeting up at Forbes Place in Paisley at 0930 for a wee blast over the Braes and on over to Eaglesham if anyone else is interested in joining us.
  19. Great day out with excellent company throughout thanks to to Charlie and Chung, with a late appearance by Ian. This two cafe stop thing is pretty good, we should do it more often.
  20. Nice route, I shall be there because I asked ever so nicely for permission. I just need to be back in time for a family dinner that I will be cooking.
  21. Woo-hoo! This is an excellent day out, if you have not been before this is the best one of the year. I have a couple of ideas.....
  22. Absolutely fanrastic day out with the club. A nice steady pace for most of the way making it a very friendly bunch indeed. Even the sun was out for us.
