Paul C got a reaction from GrahamF in Thursday 20th - Brisbane Glen to Largs
Just Graham and me. After some early misty drizzle the weather improved and the return journey was dry and not too windy.
An enjoyable run! (apart from puncture at the bottom of the Whin).

Decided to head to Aberfoyle as I needed to be in Killearn later anyway. Got as far as Drymen and could not feel my hands so decided to head for the in-laws earlier than planned, hot shower and chocolate button egg

Must have been hard to get going again after the cafe stop. The non-stop, cold rain had me borderline hypothermic by the time I got home. Bad choice of gloves in particular had me stuck on the middle ring, fumbling at rear changes and having to ask for help to unzip pockets to get keys out when I got home with 35 miles on the clock. The conditions made this the hardest run of the year for me.
A warm bath and a coffee got me warmed up eventually.

By Dave's standards this was obviously a dry ride, but for me it was the wettest and coldest for some time. But it was good company and nice to get back to Jack's cafe.
Thanks to Paul for posting the ride, I'm hoping for better weather next time!

Hi, Graeme,

Paul C got a reaction from Roberto in Intermediate Runs
Hi, Paul,
Yes - we did have an intermediate group.
Steady pace and about 60 - 70 miles distance (with obligatorycafe stop, of course)
Lately I have been going out with the 30 milers and then adding on the some extra distance at the end to get the mileage up to 60.
Having said that we had a '30 miler' run last Sunday and nearly everyone did 50+ miles with an excellent café stop at Eglington Country Park
I am happy to resurrect the intermediates and I suggest a run to Troon on April 16th which is about 65 (flatish)miles from the club and a steady pace.

Paul C got a reaction from Ian Holms in Sunday 2nd April: Eglington Park Irvine
What happened to you Ian. We waited until 09:04!
Excellent run today in lovely sunshine.
Bunch of seven - Morna, Mia, Carol, Dave, TT Alan, Anthony and me.
Lovely café stop at Eglington Park - the scones were enormous and filled with cream and jam!
Chapeau to the '30 Milers' who did more than 50 miles!
I think Mia would have been nearer to 70 miles by the time she got back to Kilmacolm?
This is why I love cycling - just one big happy family!!

Paul C got a reaction from Ian Holms in Sunday 26th March : Dunlop Dairy
What a lovely day for a run (with a bunch of 8) after a chilly start! Got a bit warm so had to unzip my jacket couple of inches at the end!.
Left the bunch at the dairy and soloed back to LW via Kilmaurs, Crosshouse and Kilwinning.
Excellent day out and a good old natter in the tearoom. The chocolate cake was lovely.
I think we have exhausted the cheese jokes!!!
