Cycling Time Trial (CTT) Scotland are requesting proposals from clubs for TT events through the 2017 season. See below from CTT Scotland ---- The timeline for events for 2017 is that the District has to agree all dates for events by the end of September as they have to be submitted to CTT National by 1st October. In order to do this the District will convene an AGM at which time the committee with input from the club representatives will agree the dates to be forwarded to National CTT for inclusion in the handbook. We have yet to set a date for the AGM but it will need to be August/September and I will write to you again with the details. In the meantime can you please discuss with your club what events you are planning for next year. ---- If you are interested in running an open Time Time on behalf on JWCC in 2017 please contact Graham Findlay or myself by Private Message before the 29th July. Robbo, Wouldn't worry too much about it, unless the time doesn't suit you or you're offended by the following :-) When setting the field some organisers will look at the top 10 - 20 riders. That's what I do for the Sam Dooley In a field of 100 the top ten will be set off at ten minute intervals with the fastest at the end. The next 10 are then set off at the 5minutes in between. The club is celebrating our 90th Anniversary this year with a number of events planned for past, present and new members The Johnstone Jets, youth section of the Johnstone Wheelers, is one of the largest youth cycle clubs in Scotland and carries British Cycling Go-Ride and Clubmark accreditation. Catering for youngsters between the ages of 5 and 17, the Jets have an active club calendar with coached activities at Linwood every Saturday morning and road-race training on Thursday evenings. Are there any volunteers to attend this meeting? ------------ Hi All CTT Scotland are proposing to hold a district meeting as early in the year as possible hopefully in April either on a Saturday or a Sunday. What I would like to gauge from the member clubs is where the meeting should take place and whether your club would send a representative. At this meeting we would like to introduce ourselves (CTT Scotland Comittee) and give a presentation on Signage and Safety procedures for CTT Events and if possible to give a presentation on the new CTT Website and On Line Entry system. The possible locations are Perth and Glasgow and travel expenses are available for all delegates. Can you please respond as soon as indicating desire to attend and which venue would be preferable. Hi Everybody This is a notification that should be posted at your HQ for any Open TT that you may promote. We all want to eliminate all instances of miss use of PEDS and CTT has put aside £40K in the current year for testing. Testers may appear at any event in the UK and this notice should be used at all events as the testers will only make themselves known to organisers at short notice prior to the event. Hi everybody I attended along with Willie Cosh an "Organisers Workshop" arranged by CTT last weekend. As part of that meeting we were given an update on the new CTT Website. The site is due to go live on Wednesday 16th March at which time all affiliated club members can register. By registering you will be given a registration number which you can use to populate your details into event entries. If you go straight to the event entry part of the system as a first time user you will redirected to the registration process. The events which will be in the new system will be those which are in the calender from 1st of May. Any events which are in the calender prior to 1st of May will be processed by the old system. As a registered user of the system you will be able to enter multiple events and have them in your "Shopping Basket" and then pay for them all with a single payment. Also if you have purchased anything from the CTT shop it will be included in your "Basket". Over time as results build up each rider will be able to develop a profile with all their results. As your results build up the system will automatically identify your fastest times in the last three seasons at each of the standard distances. If you are an event organiser your registration will be given extra privileges to allow you to accept or reject event entries. Once you accept an entry the money will be directed to whichever bank account you have nominated in the system. If you reject an entry the system will generate an automatic refund to the applicant. All entrants will get an automatic eMail either confirming entry or advising of rejection. Once the entries have been accepted they will be listed for you in a format that will used to make up your start sheet. The entrants will be listed slowest to fastest initially but as the organiser you will be able to manipulate that order using a "Drag and Drop" process. Result sheets can also be uploaded to the system to complete the cycle. The system will be used for Type A Open events. Clubs can organise Type B events without using the system and entries can be accepted by the organiser on the day with the competitors signing on the start sheet. The organiser must however keep a record of the entrants name, address and club. If you are organising a type B event Blank start sheets can be downloaded from the CTT website as can all other documents required to promote an event. An organiser can also create a manual entry into a Type A event in the circumstance that an entry is received in the post. If the event is a multiple rider (Tandem) or TTT the lead entrant would indicate who the members of the team were and the system would generate an eMail to each entrant asking them to submit their entry fee assuming they had all registered on the system. Needless to say there will be problems to be sorted as any new system has problems so if you or any of your club members have an issue please contact me as soon as possible and I will refer to the appropriate person in CTT. It is hoped to have a "Help" page as soon as possible so that problems can be sent to the developers directly.
