Kenny MacDonald got a reaction from Richard in Sunday 9th Dec : Dunlop Dairy 2nd attempt
Yes a bit risky for bunch riding , I carried on and roads got better over top but still patches of ice where road was sheltered. Managed Dunlop then over to Neilston but got a puncture at Barrhead and discovered tyre levers were in Uist so a bit of choice language and improvisation before I was back on road. As Alan said a good squad out pity about conditions.

Kenny MacDonald got a reaction from ginty001 in Annual Drum-Up on the shores of Loch Eck ..... Sunday 22nd October
Great to catch up with friends old and new today . The JWCC buffet and post meal drinks was the highlight of the day , forgot how good it is cycling the glens in Argyle.

Kenny MacDonald got a reaction from RyanF in Sunday 21st Feb 2016 - Reliability #3 - Sinclair Street
This reliability brings back memories of the time I did a track stand at traffic lights at the bottom of Sinclair Street . The local church had just come out and the congregation was streaming across the road . When the lights went to green I jumped on pedals to get a quick getaway . Only to end up on the deck in a heap , as the chain had snapped LOL much to the amusement of the rest of the bunch. I wish I could say it was my super strength but alas it was a batch of dodgy chains . I can recall at least 4 other club members suffering a similar fate that season.
Another memorable reliability run round that circuit was stopped by the police just after Cardross . Our bunch was about 25 strong and we had caught the Glasgow district CTC who had about 30 in their bunch . A Police inspector pulled us over and told us to ride in single file , realising this would cause even more of a hold up for traffic we duly obliged without any discussion . It was a sight to behold as the group rode into Helensburgh in one long line .
ps it took an eternity to get to back of bunch when you had done a spell

Kenny MacDonald got a reaction from Ramsay in Saturday, 1 October 2016 - Hill Climb Championships for the Joe Brunetti Shield 10:30 Howwood, 0.3 miles
Well done to all riders , I was delighted to attend and see so many riders competing. I had my father Murdo MacDonald along who was club race secretary in 70/80s . He couldn't believe the number of Jets competing and the variety of age ranges. Well done to riders and officials a great event showcasing the multi talented riders the club has .
My father was surprised by the gazebo at the start line wishing they had been invented in his day plus iphone stopwatches completely confused him , I was happy to be the catcher at the summit for the riders and give them a wee help to get their feet out and recover . An old tradition which hopefully will be used in future event's as I always appreciated it when I was competing .
ps the jets were easier to push but as the number grew it was further to push them up the hill each time so I got a good work out LOL

Kenny MacDonald got a reaction from ginty001 in A830 Fort william to Mallaig
Road is fairly quiet , but busier in summer months due to tourists . If riding bike its got a few stiff climbs some are long and some are short and steep. Its quite a twisty road , lots of new resurfaced sections. very scenic nice road on bike.
If heading to Mallaig can recommend Steam inn for food and entertainment at night .
