The chief comm and race jury saw it all unfold and the ruling that has been made (after much deliberation) is that it was definitely amber so whoever the two that were off the front riding with a panache reminscent of Van Avermaet and Sagan and managing to hold off a rampaging, chasing peloton will be awarded the rightful points for their efforts. However to quell dissent in the ranks the intermediate and final sprint points will also apply to the chase group, so in effect 3rd, 4th and 5th gets points as if they are 1,2 and 3. However as I think Ian crossed the line first we should give him the points as it's such a novelty for him to get sprint points Not too sure who was second.
