Guest EPCC
Is this worth doing?
DavieB
Is this worth doing? Good fun and decent course, if you want to race in the series you should get all the practice you can get. A week before 3peaks so I will probably give it a miss.

alexb
Help! Looking at entering Rothesay cx - what is this strange alien language? "your favourite cyclocross features. Terrain, terroir, portage, obstacle, YOLO" What does this mean?
Guest EPCC
Portage is a French word meaning carry your bike

DavieB
Portage is most commonly associated with the (French Canadien) voyageurs in the pioneering days and as suggested means to carry canoes over land where it was impossible to travel via the watercourse. Ray Mears did an excellent documentary exploring these pioneering trails if anybody wishes to seek it out. Keen wine buffs (or mere quaffers) should be familar with terrior. YOLO who knows. The language of 'cross is surely Flemish, which reminds me of the finest Sporza and Vier commentators and their sage pronouncements of such gems as ...aye... aye,aye.....aye, aye...aye..aye. Which translates roughly as that was a bit impressive.
2023 Subscriptions George Posted August 8, 2015 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted August 8, 2015 YOLO-you only live once! Don't know much about cycling but I am down with acronyms.
