2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted February 3, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 Well that run served its purpose for establishing reliability. Within first 5 miles there were 2 reliability issues ( you know who you are! ) Then some further issues which resulting in Ross climbing the wall in the big ring !! With a broken cleat !! And quite fast at that. Last group worked hard into the wind with billy doing a suicidal spell before the clune not realising we were going to regroup at top anyway. Ross - if you need to offload some of 300 plus watts of energy your putting out (and you clearly do) I know of a good way to do it on a Saturday morning..... Paul C
A good run for me today even into the wind! Surprisingly not last up the Clune! Entertainment was provided by Darryl whose right pedal kept unscrewing itself every few miles. Thanks to Suzie for the soup and others who provided refreshments. 2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted February 3, 2013 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 Reliability issues across all bunches. David T's tyre burst with such a loud bang that I thought someone was shooting at us!

Anyway, enjoyed the workout. Away next weekend, but back for a 09:30 start the following week!

2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted February 3, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 Guys The reliability issues I referred to are not of the human type but the mechanical type, the first being Ross's mudguard and the second being Billy's chain !! I was trying to spare Ross's blushes as that would be 3 reliability issues in total with the cleat and wee ring.......
2023 Subscriptions ginty001 Posted February 3, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 Very tough into the wind, but some much needed pain, i'm sure it will be worth it, legs still in bits at the moment though....... great soup and rolls though, thanks to all who supplied the goodies.... I can't ride next week, but will bring the soup and open/close clubrooms.... Ian
Administrators Jannza Posted February 3, 2013 Administrators Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 Rule no.1 check your bike night before. No.2 put your notes in a zipped pocket
Guest GEORGE DONNELLY
Unreliability trials? There were a few well skelped faces back at HQ today. I saw Mark O trundle down Miller Street as I drove away, looked like he had been dragged through a totty field.
Guest Ross Toole
Can we please rename next weeks ride cause it was a jinx! The bike got a stern talking too and put to bed without any dinner when I got home. If anyone wants to put down flowers my mudguards are lying at the Morrison's lights RIP. Ur not having much luck with mudguards. I spent an exciting Friday night trying to fit a set of muddies. Rear one now on and typical it was dry yesterday. Front one on and can only go straight, the wheel can't turn without catching cables!

I bought a front muddy from wiggle that attaches to your down tube. No tangle, no rattle, no falling off & fits on in 2 minutes. Think it was £12. Guest GEORGE DONNELLY
Funny you should say that, it does look good on my carbon frame. Performs well too.
