Fecking hard work at times. In fact most of the time.
Cheers for waiting for me at various points, great run and all the better with the buzz of a 77kmh Crow Road descent with only crappy cx cantis at your fingertips. But who wants to slow down on the way to the cafe stop anyway?

Loved that.  Great bunch!  Have now paid my subs and joined the club.
Thanks for that today guys.  Now, need to try and source some kit - I'm wary it's in the process of being changed, but does anyone have any old jerseys or gilets spare (size small) ?

Anybody got a gpx file of this route or is it on Strava / Garmin Connect to view?  Want to make sure I make the right turn (or the left one) when on the front.

Nice to see you & Gerard as we were headed down Brisbane Glen.  3 of us had just finished the Lyle Hill Climb event.  A tough wee hill, but a good event.  Hope to be out with you next week, if not then deffo the week after

Cracking run today with sunshine too!
”Eleven” riders came out to play today - AlanT, Alex, Colin Sales (new member), Gerard, Glen, Iain Couttie, Iain C, Jaki, Tom, Marty & myself formed an orderly Bunch all the way to Kilcreggan with a cafe stop sitting OUTSIDE ...... in October enjoying the food/beverages & the sun of course!
You should see the size of Iain Couttie’s omelette :-) it was the size of me head ..... but it did look delicious though, it must be because it didn’t took him long to finish it :-)
Opted for the more direct route back after Helensburgh, rather than going up Sinclair Street on the return leg, straight down the coast.
Good that we managed to all stayed together until the Bridge whereupon Marty & I headed home via the Westend of Glasgow.
159km by the time I limped home, I’m goosed but a brilliant day on the bike indeed!
Thanks again everyone for the wheels & company!
    Cheers

Great run out today. Great weather, great company, sensible pace. Cheers for organising Glen.
Well done to new boy Colin, and to Jaki for getting round in the bunch.

Yip, great run on a fantastic October day. Thanks guys, I was truly at the end of my rope in the last 10k. Saw the Kilkreggan bunch at Houston and they looked very tidy.
Cedric had a 'significant' mechanical between Kilbirnie and Lochwinnoch. His fixie chain wrapped round the rear hub shell, jammed his back wheel and he had a long skid, which shredded through his new tyre. Anyway, went back to get him, repaired to mine for toast and scrambled egg before even looking at his bike as we both knackered. Eventually we went out and got him sorted with a tyre to get him home but he headed back on train to Glasgow Central as the chain looked like it could fail after its exertions. He made it ok.
Loch Thom was pretty special in the Autumn light but not a patch on the utterly stunning view of Arran from West Kilbride with its sunny peaks and shadowy glens. The winter timetable starts in 2 weeks so it game on for the WSA. Just saying like.

Probably. But I have been in Aberdeen all day in a light breeze so I'll have to assume that Couttie has just popped out to bag a couple. Wout van Aert has ten pages of Strava KOMs but I'm sure he'll miss ours the most.

    Hi
Some of the local climbs have been totally bossed by Quick Step etc on Strava. I am looking at The Full Carruthmuir aka. Phil's Folly and I've seen others.
can I suggest that during the winter gales (we'll need storm force tailwinds ) we make club efforts to get one of these back.
I would like to imagine Wout van Aert or GVA receiving the "Uh oh, Galeb/Paul/Ian has just taken your KOM etc..." message. (I would also like to think they might just pop back to regain their Kom). Perhaps they weren't really trying but I think they were.
I will volunteer to lead out for, oooh, first 20 seconds.
Anyone got a list of likely segments?
    Alan
