stevie got a reaction from PaulL in Track league 17 October
Felt like I rode a lot better this week. Much nearer the front, didn't chase when I didn't need to (or couldn't) was there or there about at the end of the points but think I only managed 5th or 6th on the line.. 4th in the Devil was a better result.

I was a bit better than last week but mostly because last week was so poor. Able to contest in one of the scratches so that was an improvement - unfortunately the opening came a lap too early with 3 to go and ended up getting caught by 4 or 5 others by the line.
Good to see so many wheelers racing tonight and a bit of a baptism of fire for stevie getting put in the c group rather than the d. Probably a better place to learn the ropes though!

Repeating Alan T's thank you to Chung and Alan McLean for timekeeping with a smile and to Colin Edgar (Jets dad) for holding.
Thanks also to Alan T for organising the road closure to allow the event to happen.

I just didnt turn up tonight, an absolute mile off where i was last season. The worrying thing (with the exception of the first one) the races weren't particularly fast.
some great results from Cedric in the As (and a nice new bike too!)

Fun night tonight, but very hard. A 3 lap sprint, a 10 lap consolation race, a 30 lap scratch and a 10 lap tempo after a 1 race break. Tired a bit halfway through the 30 lap race, and then couldn't recover for the tempo race.
There was a big crash in my second race, when a rider in front of me swung up after the finish, forcing me up, and forcing the rider on my wheel into rubbing his front wheel on my rear wheel, and down he went. From the top of the track. Looked like a dislocated shoulder and some track rash.

stevie reacted to P McDonald in Johnstone Jets
I know this is not strictly the Jets forum and I know many of you will have seen this on Facebook but just had to mention a HUGE congratulations to Lusia Steele who has been selected to represent Team GB at the Junior Worlds in August in the sprint.
Very exciting trip ahead for Kenny methinks

Looking at tonights league results and comparing to last year - Fullarton were 3rd with 2 hours 11 mins 47 seconds (average of 16.28). JWCC had 7 tonight and combined for 1.55.40 (average of 16.31). So Fullartons time from last year and challenging for spot on the podium isn't out of reach.
There is one complication - unfortunately Richard wont be able to count for the cup because of a rule banning those who have won Scottish medals in the last 3 years. Which is a shame because having someone capable of low / sub 15 would help a lot!

Good ride with Marc in the rain - haven't seen that in a while! After 30 mins or so he decided to cut it short and then like last time solo-ed the rest of the ride to finish with a good avg of 20mph

Very safe race. I was a bit cautious given the standard of the field and in retrospect wish I had been more active. Finished in the bunch like a true Chipper.

That was a good blast! As I set off for a solo ride Marc turned up and it was the usual 2up . We did the usual route but backwards this time for a change...it was hard going in the wind and a lumpy start that shocked the legs. Few lumps in and we were off full TT mode heart rate at threshold and smashing to Largs. A quick snack on the bike and then back into full gas mode back home.
Good workout and thanks for the company Marc!
PS Anyone planning on racing or is racing this year...this would be a good session!

Probably as good a night as you ever get for climbing the Clune. Hope there were a few PR's. I was 16s off my best but got caught behind cars that were caught behind the Heggies bunch. Must be worth at least 30s lol. Can't believe Paul McD won the sprint with that tailwind. A man for all conditions. Unbeatable.
