  1. New 12hr road cycling event on the 20th and 21st June and wondered if you would be able to pass the details onto your club members? The event, "No Sleep Till Breakfast" will be held on a 30 mile road lap that heads from Loch Tay and into Glen Lyon then over Ben Lawers. The race is open to solo riders or can be ridden as part of a relay team of two or four riders. The event will start at 8pm on Saturday 20th June and finish on Sunday 21st June at 8am (taking advantage of the longest daylight of the year). The challenge for riders is to ride solo, or in teams and complete as many laps as possible in that time. I have attached further details for your information and included these below too. If you need any more information then please get in touch. In 2015 Highland Perthshire Cycling will bring you a new road cycling event that will allow you to do just that. All you have to do is keep your eyes open long enough. What is it? Taking the cycle sportive to a new level, this event will be like no other. Run over 12 hours the aim for riders is to see how many 30 mile laps they can complete within the timescale. The event is open to riders aged 16 or over and can be completed as a solo-rider, or as a relay in teams of two or four. Riders will take to the roads of Highland Perthshire and cycle a set lap along Loch Tay-side and then up through the deep recesses of Glen Lyon. The challenge really begins when they cyclists will tackle the slopes of Ben Lawers, the tenth highest mountain in the UK. The road summit is at 1830ft after a climb of 5 miles and altitude gain of 1147ft. It truly is a monster of a climb. Once at the top the views down to Loch Tay are stunning and riders will have plenty of time to savour them on the 4 mile descent to Loch Tay before turning east and back to complete one lap. Riders will start at 8pm on Saturday 20th June 2015 and ride until 8am on Sunday 21st June. Entries are now open and are limited to 300 riders.
