Guest EPCC
just a quick note to let all the new faces know the score with the main bunch rides for the next few months At this time of year we generally ease of on the pace a bit, this doesn't mean we crawl along but we just take it a bit easier😄 and allow our body and minds to recover. This is still training as we will ride for the same length of time but the routes will be predominantly flat and build our endurance for next year so if you can think of some flat runs post them on this thread 60/ 80 miles

alexb
Coast route to Largs, carry on down to Kilwinning and back via Barmill and Bowfield?
Members Iain67
Never done it in the winter Billy but what about Dumbarton, Helensburgh, round coast road to Kilgreggan and back again? Dumbarton- Helensburgh road can be a bit busy but no worse than Coast road to Largs. Alan Michael
Members Iain67
Also means I get an extra 30 minutes in bed, most welcome in the winter....... Alan Michael

2023 Subscriptions AlanT Posted October 12, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted October 12, 2014 Routes to Largs or Troon always good.
Mark O
Troon ride with some variations thrown in is reasonably flat. Also there is a route down to Galston and then onto Strathaven and back via EK and Eaglesham to consider. One point of order however, I take serious issue with this idea of 'joining' in runs that go past folk's front door and the idea of an extra half hour in bed - if only. Rule #5 and get your lazy butt to Miller St. for the roll out. Yes that's you crowd fae Bishy. Grrrrrrr

Richie Cross
How about Largs?
AllanM
A couple of the runs posted by Al Yuille in summer are worth considering. The first one is over the water and if you take the Crow Road and Pipe Track out of the route it's not too hilly. http://www.mapmyride.../view/393250438 The second is an version of an Ayrshire run. http://www.mapmyride.../view/432835956
Guest George
Alan, the pipe track is miles from L-A-R-G-S
Guest EPCC
It's also hilly
AllanM
Billy, that's why I suggested we the Pipe Track out of the run...although I think you can see L-A-R-G-S from the top so it must be worth climbing!
