  1. How about trying the Guinness diet instead http://sonomasun.com/2013/02/15/surviving-the-guinness-diet/
  2. Will join you at some point on the cycle track or West Glen Road.
  3. Family commitments on Sunday unfortunately. However, if you enjoy it so much that you want to do it all again the following day (Bank Holiday Monday) I’ll be up for it
  4. Dose of summer man flu at the moment and supposed to be off to a party this afternoon but will hopefully be at the bridge at 9. May bail early dependant on how I’m feeling tommorw.
  5. I hope you don’t think I’m being anti-social, especially being a newbie to JWCC and also gate crashing this party at the last minute, however, I prefer my own space, i.e. to be able to snore and fart, which is guaranteed after a few beers, without worrying about waking anyone else up. I’m also a light sleeper so room sharing, let alone bed sharing, would end up with 4 nights of no sleep for me. I’ve therefore managed to book a 3 bedroom apartment in Argelès Gazost via AirBnB. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/16226019 Taking Billy’s lead, I nominate myself as my own house captain and am commandeering the room with the double bed for sole occupancy. That leaves 2 other rooms each with 2 single beds in them. Happy to split the cost of the apartment per room (approx. £110) so if someone wants a room to themselves in a single bed it’s £110 with a spare bed to tuck your bike into. However, if you want to share a room with someone else and have a single bed each then split the cost between you, £55 each. If everyone is happy with the exiting arrangements that’s not a problem, I’ll just take the hit on paying for the full property and rattle around it. Hopefully this will give us all a bit more space and flexibility, especially if others decided to come at the last minute.
  6. Flights and race entry booked. Let me know if I owe anyone money for accommodation / airport transfers / race jerseys etc. at this stage. Better start that diet; tomorrow.
  7. Doing the Tayside Challenge on Saturday but should have enough miles left in the legs to join you on Sunday. Just need to see if I can find some lost Browine Points down the back of the sofa somewhere for a pass out.
  8. Great ride. Nearly didn’t come out as wasn’t feeling too well. Thanks for the wheels and allowing me to hide at the back until Helensburgh. After that it seemed to pass and I had a lovely day.
  9. Probably going to struggle to make it. However, if I can I will meet you at the bridge.
  10. Will join you as long as it's not a crazy pace. See you at Lorrimers at 8:00 Ian?
  11. Will tag along and keep you company. Need to do the school run to get the few extra brownie points needed to get out so will meet you at the junction of West Glen / Netherton Road. Should be there for about 9:20.
  12. Hi Stevie, I need to head out early tomorrow so can’t make your ride. However, I plan to go across Erskine Bridge / Helensburgh / Arrochar / Rest and Be Thankfull / Past Loch Eck / Dunoon and ferry. Easy pace. Will be at Erskine Bridge at 7:30 if any one would like to tag along.
  13. Good running late too...
  14. An afternoon ride works well for me this week so count me in.
  15. Can’t make it next week, will be back the week after.
  16. First time out on the chaingang. Great fun, I think? Spent the last few years training to cycle at a steady pace, saving somethIng for the marathon. This all out pace is just mental. And I love it !!!!! Best decision ever to tag along (and get dropped....(common theme)) on a Sunday bunch ride. Thanks to JWCC for being so welcoming and patient with us newbies.
  17. First ever TT and absolutely loved it. Thanks to all for organising and helping out.

    Bike box loan

Paul, I have a semi hard one on wheels which I’ve never had problems taking the bike on an aeroplane. You’d need to get it off me today / tomorrow as heading off on holiday on Friday. John
  19. Has the wheel fallen off your golf trolley?
  20. Fingers crossed I will be there as long as someone explains the rules as not sure if the draft rules, if there are any, are the same as in triathlon. Don't want to get DQ'd on my first outing...
  21. Will hopefully join you for the first few hundred yards
  22. Will meet you at BOW viaduct, weather permitting.
