  1. Not accredited - will bring L-plates! Ready to learn and work hard. cheers, E.
  2. Missing this one.... will be at Camp Nou for FC Barcelona, enjoy the day!
  3. Completed a solo coast road loop to Largs, no BB stop, and back by Haylie Brae, with a slightly later start at 10.30 roads were perfect.
  4. Black ice here...too slippy, will delay decision to go out for solo ride later, or not at all!
  5. Enjoyed the run today, a couple of good hills and nice pace for the 30s at Largs & Kilbirnie.
  6. As Kevin Costner never said in Field of Dreams.......'If you post it, they will come'!
  7. As many of you already know there now exists the JWCC 'official' Strava page. This is a new page built towards the end of 2016 to provide active 'Wheelers' with a single club-managed site to record all of your rides and see posts of certain upcoming club runs and events. The new Strava page has all of our known 'Wheelers' contact details and web links to places such as FB and British Cycling where members and joiners can find out more about the Club. Unlike the old site the admins are controlled by Club members, more administrators can be added as required, this has enabled the posting of upcoming events and club rides. Now that we have entered 2017 you may have recently noticed details of the 1st Reliability were posted and everyone who has joined JWCC 'official' page should have received an invitation to attend. It is now possible to register an interest in joining the event by simply clicking on a button under the Group Event notice. It would be good to have all, or most, of our current membership operating on the one Strava page, there are currently 45 members of the new JWCC 'official' Strava but still c80 on the old one. You are not obliged to do so, but if you want to receive information on club events and keep an eye on your friends (or enemies) achievements then why not join JWCC - official for 2017 and you can then leave the old pages.....it's simple... ...follow the yellow JWCC badge! https://www.strava.com/clubs/JohnstoneWheelers
  8. Happy New Year! DavidC and I are heading out for a few hours gentle paced ride tomorrow, meeting at Morrisons 10a.m. likely route is Bowfield to Stewarton then back up towards Glasgow cutting over to Neilston, Braes and home. Expect it to be cold and dry. More wheels are welcome! Eric

  12. Great large bunch ride today, nice weather and views to be enjoyed, a decent work out under the belt by the time it was all over! 'cheers' to all who took part. Eric
  13. No problem Paul, thought there may have been more interest given the weather. Just back from Bridge of Weir and I wouldn't fancy anyone's chances on roads, bad enough in a car!!

  15. Hope so, if storm Barbara doesn't get me first! http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/releases/2016/storm-barbara-is-on-the-horizon Could be a tough one for Saturday 'boggers'!
  16. Well, who did we have on board today? Billy, Gerard, Emma, George, AndyG, Iain, IainC (in part) DavieB (to Largs) and self enjoyed a steady ride into the mists above Largs, a quick descent of Haylie Brae saw us back in the BB, for chat and refreshments, before the haul up Brisbane Glen then Whinhill to track and dispersing home. Good steady miles with a decent amount of climbing...and another dirty bike to attend to!
  17. see you at clubrooms 09.30!
  18. Good idea, as the events are already in the calendar.
  19. Exercise caution before you do Alan, unless you are desperately keen for the 'prize' (you have to pay for?).
