  1. Yeah good day out, felt like summer again! Crow road descent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFVBy32i2S8 (i'll upload some others when i get the chance)
  2. Ive never been on the route but judging from the description i think it is this (from the bridge) http://ridewithgps.com/routes/5843436
  3. Nice night tonight, hopefully a few more sunny nights still to come. Apologies for how i came through on the last bit of the west ferry didnt realise i was doing it. Suppose thats the advantage of being a fat guy when there is a crosswind!
  4. I use Vittoria Diamante Pro Light. Weigh about 170g and can be inflated to 145 psi. They also do a pista / track version which is a bit lighter (although doesnt have a puncture protection strip)
  5. Unfortunately not. Specific derny sessions would be a good addition to the timetable, dont know why Glasgow doesnt have them when most other velodromes seem to offer it.
  6. The standard of the riders was decent - all pretty fit and safe / predictable which was good as i was a lacking a bit of confidence at the start so felt like it was worth the money getting some of that back. As always though its just your luck on the night who else is there.
  7. Only 8 which meant the practice races were a bit more sprint focused rather than endurance.
  8. Im a maybe, see how my legs feel on sunday. Was at the DST tonight and it was a bit depressing how poor i was. I seem to have lost all ability to sprint or accelerate quickly!
  9. Good luck with the new job. Great gesture with the TT bike. Also thanks for the excuse if you win any sprints on the remaining couple of rides...we were letting you win as a goodbye gift!
  10. Well done some great results, bit of bad luck too but thats racing i guess.
  11. Away on holiday at the moment but will be back early sunday morning so happy to help if still needing numbers
  12. Good run tonight. Although feel im going backward a bit in terms of fitness.
  13. Here is the timetable for once it open agains from next week. http://www.emiratesarena.co.uk/cycling/Documents/Velo%20Timetable%202014-15%20%28Website%20Copy%29.pdf I know a couple of you were keen to either finish off the accreditation process or start it so probably worth booking soon so you can to try and avoid the inevitable bottleneck that will happen in a few weeks time.
  14. finish, usual story of going far too early for a sprint but it was just too hard to resist holding back and not trying to go round the final corner on the front of a group of about 50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ouv86Dd-tDI
  15. Video quality isnt great for alot of the ride due to water on the lens obscuring things. The later videos turned out ok presumably because there was so much rain it was constantly running off rather than sitting in droplets here is the start https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66KrrNoX5GQ
  16. Started off well feeling good and flying along, then dropped a banana which i managed to get caught in cassette and chain. Fortunately no damage just mush. It wasnt long though until the next group came by and this one had Charlie and Al in it and went along at a cracking pace. When the group split into two going into a headwind i was on the wrong side and had to chase back on which took a while shortly after that i am trying to recover and get a puncture. Fix it but before i get going again a group led by Marianne Vos went sailing past, i tried hard to get on that one but it wasnt to be! From then on was just in a small group to the finish, for a 20 minute period it was the heaviest rain ive cycled in. When it came to the finish i did my usual and led the sprint out far too early, i didnt just fade badly i cramped up with 50 metres to go and had to freewheel in Unfortunately the weather meant the two major hills were out but still a good day out and in some respects the really heavy rain (not the normal rain but the really heavy stuff) was almost sort of enjoyable! At least as long as i dont need to 'enjoy' cycling that sort of rain again.
  17. Unlucky - what a way to finish. On the positive side it will make for quite the photograph if one of the photographers caught it! btw did you pass by Spittalfields later in the day with a small group of other riders? i saw someone in wheelers shorts but a bus blocked the way as i shouted hello!
  18. No missing it as dates clashed and down at Ride London, really enjoyed the campus one earlier in the season so if its as well run as that it should be a good event.
  19. Well done and to Emma too Are you doing the Crit under the Castle at the weekend?
  20. Cant make the club run this week however intend to go up to Glasgow early and get a shot on the closed roads. This was possible a couple of hours before the TT started yesterday so presumably the same again for the road race. Aiming to be at Glasgow green about 6.30, do a lap then watch the women going past for their first lap then head home if anyone is interested in a pre club ride spin
  21. (Saw this posted on the braveheart cycling firum and thought id post on here if anyone was interested - i dont have any further details just this) "Tomorrow morning (Tuesday) BBC Breakfast are looking to interview any Glasgow riders who have been out with teams. Meet at entrance to Athlete Village 8.30am for wee interview then group ride from 9am with cameras following. Piece to feature as preview to TT on Thursday. Kenya, Sth Africa, Cayman Islands and others amongst those going for a ride."
