  1. Well done to all those that participated and particularly to Paul with what i think is his first win in a club event Apologies to Dave for the sheer ineptitude i exhibited as a holder up, a problem the subsequent riders didnt have to face as i passed on the role to Alan!
  2. I cant get the map link to work - whereabouts is the start?
  3. That does seem a bit daft. Although not an isolated case of daftness with point allocation - with the track league only the top 6 overall get points after 10 weeks of racing. By comparision the top 6 in the vets 3k pursuit also got points last year. There were only 6 entries!
  4. The British Cycling website can be a bit difficult to navigate so i've made up a list of some road races and criteriums that might be of interest along with some details. I'll try and update this first post as more races open for entry, as the courses gets published etc. It is mainly local ones although some of the WOSCA races have still to be added to the BC website. The ones further afield like in Stirling, Edinburgh or Dunfermline I've included mainly because i intend to do them! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 22 March 2015 Fenwick APR Entry: Full (enough for 2 races!) 5. Hope you are both ok and not feeling too sore tomorrow morning - certainly looked spectacular so it was good to see you both back on feet so quickly. And Emma racing the next race too, chapeau! Racing passed me by a bit tonight, felt reasonably good but didnt do anything in the points. Scratch started off with a crash in the roll out lap then was in the wrong side of a big split with about 5 laps to go (caused by lapped rider dropping into the line then losing the wheel in front so a bit frustrating) managed to close it just in time for the sprint to start by which time i couldnt go. Last a devil, tried to ride it from the front and stay out of trouble but a couple of others had the same idea and about half way through i didnt defend the position well enough and got boxed in, couple of laps later i was out. The eliminations every lap rather than every second lap are so unforgiving!
  6. Not intending to ride it so i can do the pushing off.
  7. Tough but enjoyable at least until the Clune, cramped badly on the first ramp and after that was just a case of spinning to the end. Was going so slow up Phil's Folly that my Garmin kept autopausing thinking i'd stopped! Thanks to Kenny and Jann for the organisation as well as those that checked out the routes yesterday(and anyone else ive missed out), great to see it so well attended.
  8. Bit time pressed next week so cant make the club run - happy to do the shoving off for the TT
  9. It's possible to have 2 teams if there is enough interest.
  10. Finally got round to signing up - anyone intending to ride down from Miller Street?
  11. Thanks for taking that tonight Billy And thanks for making us all feel inadequate Alex with your 1000+ watts sprints!
  12. me, club turbo please is it a 6.45 start?
  13. chapeau for getting out. Im getting soft - i can make up excuses about having to start doing some crit intervals but fundamentally i couldnt face getting soaked again. Its been a long winter!
  14. Some race, great ride from Stannard. I dont imagine Lefevre will be too happy at the outcome and how things collapsed!
  15. Until Inverkip wasn't quite sure if behind or in front of the bunch, fortunately the Johnstone 5 appeared to make the headwind to Largs a bit more bearable. The stretch from Ardrossan through Saltcoats to Kilwinning was pretty rapid, normally things ease off a wee bit there but not today. Somehow made it over the Kilwinning drag with the bunch then on the flatish bit at top made the mistake of thinking "job done" and drifted off the back all of 5 metres - then i just couldnt get back on before the junction. So that meant a solo sufferfest along Lochlibo road until Lindsay caught me, held on to her wheel for a bit then got dropped before Lugton then Richie caught about Shilford and ended up working together to the end.
  16. Apparently at the moment they are just testing and also showing commissaires how to work the system but that it might be an option in the future for riders to have their own chips to use for racing and drop ins. I suspect, as with most things velodrome related, Glasgow Life will be a barrier to this being adopted quickly!
  17. It seems the testing of the mylaps system was successful this week, lots of lap and timing data to look over (the points races dont seem to be included) http://www.mylaps.com/en/events/1110112
  18. Fun night in B1. First was a points race, think i got 4th in the 1st sprint then went for the next one...which was a terrible move as for some reason i thought the sprint was at 26 laps, not 24. D'oh! I didnt get that then just hung on. Next was a 16 lap scratch, went a lap too early and ended up just leading out the sprint then getting nowhere. Last was a 35 lap scratch. I was conscious of not going too early but ended up leaving it too late and ended up 4th. Well done to Alan in the Cs, a 2nd place in the points race with his tactics of leaving it to the later sprints really paying off.
  19. Got the Etape Caledonia that day so unfortunately wont be able to help out. If you need any help before the race day then happy to do what i can.
  20. Good show from those that went out.....I feel guilty for sleeping in now
